Lucy's POV

Kristen and I seemed to have been getting along pretty well, and the next thing I knew he was shutting me away again. I wasn't about to allow that. I could tell his mother's death really affected him a lot that was why he acted the way he did and I didn't really think he was close to his father.

I really wanted to be near him, to share in his grief and help him through with it. It'd hadn't been long since he left and I felt so empty inside. I just couldn't explain it.

"And where are you going young miss?", my mother asked as I headed for the door. Shit! I cursed silently under my breath. I hadn't thought of a proper excuse to tell my parents for where I was headed so early in the morning. I turned slowly to face my mom, she was still in her red nightdress. She stood there arms crossed looking at me with her left brow raised, with a questioning look.
Her hair was so messy, clear indication of a lovely night. It's such a shame my parents didn't want more children considering the fate of the only child they still had.

I flashed my best smile as I walked up slowly to where she stood, as soon as I was at an arm's length, I hugged her tight.
"Mother! Good morning mother....I see you had a pleasant night." I giggled trying to lighten up her mood. She smirked and shook her head as she blushed.

"You haven't answered my question young lady, it's quite early in the morning and I don't know you to be an early bird", her expression became tighter now. I was losing her, I thought.

"Well I just decided to go sightseeing today. It seems like a lovely day and I wanted to take a little road trip, y'know take a look around other places while at it", I tried my utmost best not to show how nervous I was. The slightest slip up and she'd know I was lying. I needed her to let me go fast because the last thing I wanted was my dad coming down the stairs.

She pressed her lips in a thin line and looked at me curiously, trying to study my expression. She huffed out some air and I just looked at her pleadingly.
"Please mom, I'll be back before dinner time...I promise". She gave an exasperated sigh and shook her head in defeat.

"What am I gonna do with you Lucy?.... Go on, you're not a little kid anymore. I can't keep you with me forever, just don't be late okay?", I squealed and hugged her tight before I sprinted out the door. My mom was just the best.

I got in my car and revved it up quickly. I drove out the gates of our home and hit the road. I didn't know where I was going exactly but I knew I just had to get there. I just couldn't bear it anymore. I decided to call the best tracker I knew to help me with my dilemma. If anyone could track anything or anyone in just a couple of minutes, it was James. I quickly dialed his number and waited till he answered.

"Yellow!". Ah James, he was such an enthusiast.
"Hi James, how are you?", I asked beaming with joy. It felt so good to hear from an old friend. James and I go way back, although he had to move to Japan to further his studies after we graduated from high school.
James was such a tech wiz, whenever Alex and I had assignments on stuff like that, we'd just hand it all over to James. He had a knack for it so his parents decided to send him all the way to a place where he felt he'd fit in.

"Oh I'm great, how about you? It's been such along time. How's Alex? I really miss you guys so much!", I swallowed as I heard him ask about Alex. I didn't know what to tell him, that Alex was being held up for attempted murder and involvement with criminals ? I couldn't.

"Uhm.. we're both great. Say James, I really need your help like right now.. that's if you don't mind". I decided to throw the question quickly, I didn't really have time on my side.

"Sure.. what's up?". I asked him if he could track someone by just making a phone call and I was glad he affirmed. I knew I couldn't call him so I just gave James his contact to do the job. He hung up and told me he'd call me back in a few minutes.

As I drove down the road heading out of the city, I couldn't help but feel uneasy. I was running short of breaths and I quickly parked by the road side. My aching chest felt like it was shrinking into my ribs, my head started to ache and I could felt so dizzy. I searched for my relief pills and took them. After a while, I started to feel much better and I heaved a sigh of relief.

My phone rang and I jerked up as I heard the music. It was James.

"James, were you able to get it?", I asked impatiently.
"Oh come on Lucy, it was such a piece of cake... I'll text you the address now but I gotta ask why you suddenly into stalking boys? Hope we're safe?", he chuckled and I rolled my eyes.

"I'll tell you about it later. We've got a lot to catch up on. Thanks a lot, byeee".

"Bye Lucy, chat you later", and with that he hung up. Few seconds later, he texted me the address of where I was headed.

"Time to head out", I said as I started up the engine and drove out.

It took a really long time to get there but I was thankful I reached at the time I'd anticipated, noon. As I parked in front of the house, I started regretting why I came. I shouldn't have come here, I thought. I should just go right now, it'd save me the embarrassment.
"No, I've come a long way and I'm not turning back now. I needed to have a word with him", I said softly. I came out of my car and walked up slowly to the door.

The garden in front of the door had such beautiful flowers. They'd been well taken care of, each flower was beautifully trimmed and they were all looking healthy. I never knew him to have such liking for nature. The grass called out to me to just lay down on it and feel it. I envisioned myself laying on it on a sunny day, just relaxing with him by my side as I stared into his eyes.

I'd finally reached the door and I hesitated before ringing the door bell. My heart pounded in my chest as I pushed the button and it rang. I waited for a while and I heard footsteps approaching the door. I straightened up my shoulders and swallowed even though my mouth felt dry. There was definitely no turning back now. I was so anxious, my heart was beating so fast. I tried to calm myself down and relax.

The door opened and I looked up slowly to see his face. My heart melted and I felt like fainting. He looked so shocked to see me, we just stared at each other for a while before he finally spoke up.

"Lucy?.... What...what are you doing here?", he asked. He was clearly nervous but not as much as I was.

"Surprise!"
