Monica POV

Where do I go? The image of Leo’s head being cleaved by that man flashed through my mind as I sprinted up the stairs to the second floor. What if he was hiding in one of the rooms? The thought paralyzed me with fear.

As I hesitated at the top of the staircase, I collided with Gelo, who was rushing past me, his face pale and bloodied. “Hide!” he yelled, panic lacing his voice.

“What? Did he follow you?” I asked, my heart racing.

He nodded, urgency in his eyes. I turned and sprinted toward the nearest door, my body shaking with dread as I heard the man’s footsteps echoing behind me. I was about to be caught!

I darted down the hallway, desperate for an escape. The weight of terror was dragging me down, sapping my strength. Could I survive this nightmare?

I bolted to the first door, but it was locked. The next door met the same fate, my panic escalating with each futile knock. I finally reached the third door and pushed it open just as I heard the man’s heavy footsteps on the stairs.

Mia POV

“Help!” I recognized Monica’s voice just before she burst through the door, fear etched across her face. Without a moment’s hesitation, she shoved me aside, desperately trying to barricade the door.

“He’s coming!” she cried, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Third stepped forward, concern evident in his eyes. “Are you okay?” he asked, but I nodded, unable to find my voice. I felt like I was drowning in fear.

“Block the door!” I shouted, my voice trembling. We quickly began to push the cabinet toward the entrance, the weight of it adding to the sense of dread that filled the room.

“There are only three of us left,” Monica sobbed, her voice breaking. “Leo, Gelo, James... they’re all gone!”

My heart sank at her words. I wiped my tears, forcing myself to breathe deeply. “We need to keep holding on,” I urged, even as despair threatened to overwhelm me.

Together, we shoved the cabinet against the door, our hearts pounding in rhythm with the chaos surrounding us. Would we be able to survive this madness?

Why did that man suddenly appear out of nowhere?

Third POV

Monica’s sobs pierced through my mind, a haunting reminder that we were the last three left alive. This was all my fault.

Why did I choose this cursed place? I wanted to cry, but tears would solve nothing. I had to stay strong for Mia and Monica, even as the horror of the situation bore down on us.

Mia was doing her best to calm Monica, but I could see the toll it was taking on her. She had witnessed the deaths of our friends; how could she cope with that? But I knew we couldn’t afford to let fear consume us.

Suddenly, there was a loud banging on the door, the sound reverberating through the room like thunder. Each thud sent waves of terror coursing through Monica, who was trembling violently against Mia’s embrace.

I stood at the door, dread pooling in my stomach. What if he forced his way inside?

Fear enveloped me, suffocating and relentless. I had to hold it together; I was the only man left. What would happen to them if I succumbed to my own terror?

“What if my nightmare is connected to all this?” Mia said suddenly, breaking the silence.

“What do you mean?” I asked, confused.

“Are you seriously thinking about that right now?” Monica cried, her voice shrill. “He’s going to kill us! Aren’t you scared?”

“I think the man who’s trying to kill us... what if he’s the son of that woman? The one everyone said was the mistress, even though she was the true wife? Maybe that’s why he looked at me like that,” Mia said, her voice trembling with fear and realization. “He must want revenge for something; maybe that’s why we’re being targeted!”

“Enough of your craziness!” Monica shouted, her panic bubbling over.

“Shut up, Monica!” I barked back, frustration spilling over. We didn’t have time for this!

“The door is open!” Monica screamed suddenly, and before I could react, a deafening crash echoed through the room. The cabinet, pushed aside by an unseen force, toppled over and slammed down on me.

Darkness enveloped me as I crumpled to the floor, my world reduced to a blur of shadows and the sounds of chaos swirling around us. In that moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of despair.

Everything went black.

---

The stench of blood hung thick in the air, the metallic tang clawing at my throat as I lay in the dark. My heart pounded, and the whispers of my friends’ screams echoed in my mind. How had it come to this? I had to find a way to wake up from this nightmare.

Would any of us survive? The shadows closed in, and the silence felt like a suffocating blanket. As I lay there, I could almost hear the man’s chilling laughter, taunting us from somewhere just beyond the veil of darkness.
