I lay on my back, staring at the moon as it stared back at me. My skin was damp on touch and my head throbbed, my thoughts felt disembodied I could not help but feel a feeling of dread.
A shadow passed overhead, but in a blink, it was gone too fast to notice. Felt my body tingle as I helped myself to my feet and looked around. I was in the forest, the one I woke up in earlier, it was the same clearing where everyone left me for dead...
A chill ran through my bones, I looked around but the environment looked vague, resembling a wet painting, the trees could not decide on a shape and the grass looked like it was ever-shifting.
My feet led me through the thick shrubbery, I could not feel the sensation of bark on my fingertips or feel branches brush past my legs. A thick mist had set in, covering the forest floor, it was as if I walked on a cloud.
Time felt like a blur as the trees thinned out, revealing a lake in which rested a boulder, the crested moon reflected brightly upon the still water.
I felt a strong brush of wind, a shadow passed overhead, blocking out the light of the moon, it was big, bigger than anything I had ever seen, in the distance I heard a faint echo, a guttural roar...
My feet led me onto the water, yet they did not sink or get wet, I walked on water as if it were ice. The surrounding mist thickened prohibiting my vision to only my feet.
The mist showed a silhouette sitting on the boulder, its wings were spread and its thorned tail was wrapped around its base, from its head sprung two giant horns.
A deep guttural voice came from it, resonating in my bones. "We meet..."
The dragon opened its eyes, the otherwise black silhouette now gleamed a deep blue as its blue lizard eyes lit up as bright as the sun. It lowered its head in front of me, its teeth were as long as my arms as it blew a storm in my direction.
The mist that surrounded me was quickly blown away and I dropped, into the icy water below, my body froze and my lungs filled with ice-cold water. The image of its two bright blue eyes struck my mind before all went black...
