Surrounded in darkness, I felt myself unable to move. Time felt nonexistent, it could have been hours since I had been stuck in this utter darkness.
My rushing thoughts were interrupted by a crack that grew ever more in my field of vision and what lay beyond shedding a bright white light.
As I tried to move and managed to gain a bit of control over my body, the crack burst in a shattering noise, deafening me with a sound that resembled glass breaking.
As my eyes adjusted to the light, I noticed that I was back in the forest, the very same clearing. Why did I keep ending up here?
The moonlight guided my way as I got up, I had a feeling like I wasn't alone, I felt eyes pierce me from all directions and the wind picked up little whispers through the trees that sounded like cries for help.
I looked behind me, a fog was crawling towards me, covering the forest floor. As the mist started to rise and thicken, I could see nothing beyond it.
My feet started to walk, but my mind was unwilling. I walked past the blurred trees and could hear the voices call out for help. I came to the lake, the same as before the one with the boulder in the middle, the mist had come from its surrounding trees covering the surface of the water.
I felt the mist in my neck, but it brought more than a pressing feeling, it brought whispers, the same whispers that called out for help, my vision faded as the mist took over.
"HELP US! HELP US!" thousands of whispers both male and female, young and old surrounded me in the mist, I tried covering my ears to no effect, as the voices came from within.
I panicked and started running in a random direction, from my peripheral I saw, shapes that resembled people. The more scared I got the more the shapes started to take form.
While running I looked behind me to see the shadows of people chasing me, when I did I crashed into something in front of me, and I stumbled a bit before finding a footing in the mist.
The whispers stopped and before me stood a man with his back turned towards me, a brown old and tattered coat and long gray hair falling past the shoulders.
As the figure slowly turned towards me, its face gained more details and features as it turned, the face filled in to be that of an older man. The wrinkled old man had stubbles and wore big tired bags beneath his eyes.
My heart felt like it had stopped beating as if ripped from my body. The stranger looked back, a smile started to form on his face. I felt like I had seen this stranger before, he looked so familiar. A small chuckle came from the stranger, It was old and raspy. His chuckle burst out into maniacal laughing and the stranger fell to his knees. He raised his arms and held mine. I could not help but recognize the face, it was one I had never seen before yet it was so similar.
"Are you...?" my voice was hesitant. The stranger stopped his laughter, his face looked like it had gained years through our encounter, through his shagged hair I could see his eyes which were filled with so much pain and sorrow, yet they wore the look of recognition, whoever this was, they also recognized me.
I could see a painful smile appear beyond his beard and in his eyes, tears started to form The stranger pushed his head against my stomach and hugged me tightly.
He drew back his head and opened his mouth to speak. Yet when his mouth opened, ice started to form on his lips which quickly took over his whole body.
I ripped myself loose from his grip. He tried reaching out for me as I stepped back, setting his body in a frozen state of reaching out to me. The old man's face was frozen in a sad expression.
I could not help but feel sad, I saw someone turn to ice in front of me, dying on the spot. I reached out my finger to touch the reaching but when it made contact, the ice sculpture turned to mist and was lost in its surroundings, leaving behind a whisper. "...Tiber..."
I was scared and alone once more, I felt the mist moving in on me, and in the distance; two bright blue glowing eyes heading straight for me, the light was piercing, and it hurt my eyes looking at it. The eyes came at me with an incredible speed bringing with them the silhouette of the dragon, it pierced through me like I was nothing to it.
All went black again, I was trapped in my own body, only hearing voices in the distance. These were voices I recognized, these were the voices of Jack and Leslie, they were concerned, but I wasn't able to tell them that I was okay.
Ifelt that my body was bumped into something, I was being carried and brought tobed followed by the voice of Jack wishing the both of us goodnight.
