Hanni's POV

I had already been living in Paris for a year. I decided to come here after graduating to leave the demons of Seoul behind for a bit, to get away from what happened to me.

It was a little difficult for my parents to accept it but in the end, they gave in thanks to my insistence and Hyo-seop's recommendation, he told them that a change of scenery would be good for me.

I lived at my grandparents' house, and I really liked being here. The college I went to wasn't bad, I started studying French philology and made a few friends.

I couldn't be with anyone; I wasn't ready for a relationship. It's not that I was looking to get into one; I honestly don't know if I managed to stop being in love with Minji anymore, but I did think about her less. I didn't know what it was about her life, although I have to confess that there were times when I stalked her social networks. It's not that I was looking for her on purpose, it was Yunjin who uploaded photos with her and mentioned her, well, what was I going to do, not look?

I kept going to the psychologist here in Paris, I felt better, but I had my moments of ups and downs.

My father came every week to see me, on Friday he would grab his yet and go to his parents' house to spend the weekend with me, sometimes my mother and Eunchae would also come, but not always.

Ohh, yes, I forgot to mention that I also adopted a little dog that I named Millie.

After almost thirteen months here I was starting to miss Seoul.

One Tuesday in the summer, while I was in the dining room watching videos on YouTube, I received a call from Yunjin via Skype.

—Hey Yunjin! — I greeted when I saw the image of my best friend.

—Hannni!! — She shouted.

—Who is that cockatoo? — my grandmother said in French when she heard Yunjin.

—Nothing, grandmother, a friend— I spoke in the same language, grabbed the laptop and went into my room so as not to disturb my grandparents who were watching the soap opera.

Yunjin and I caught up on everything, although we talked every week Yunjin always showed interest in how I was doing, how I was feeling, what my mood was and things like that, she seemed like my second psychologist. After giving her a detailed report on how my week had gone, she told me how things were going on our land.

—And did you think about what I told you?

— Yes, a little, but I haven't decided yet. I don't know if I'm ready to come back again, I miss them a lot and I need to have you close, both my parents and Eunchae and you, but I don't know...

—Come on Hanni, it's been a year, pack your bags and bring that ass to Seoul— I laughed at what she said.

— I'm not sure.

— Come on, so you can study with me, well not with me but if you could come to the dorm and live there, it's fun... Plus, you could continue your studies here. I bet this university is better than the one you go to... Hanni, please.

In the end Yunjin and my mother convinced me to return, I spent a good year in Paris, but it was time to start again.

And there I was in front of the door that led to my new home, my new house, my new beginning. A room, which I still didn't know how big it was, I only knew that I had to share it with someone, that's what they told me when I signed up. The truth is that the dorm was quite good, it was ten minutes from the college on foot and I wouldn't have to come from my house, which was almost a two-hour drive.
