The next day, Adrien woke up and started his morning routine. While brushing his teeth, he recalled the events of the previous day. In a panic, he spit out the toothpaste into the sink, splattering the mirror in the process. Seeing this, Plagg floated closer to him.

P: Kid, what's going on?

Hearing Plagg's voice, Adrien caught him in his hands and looked at him with wide, frightened eyes, as if having a panic attack.

P: Adrien, calm down. Inhale and exhale.

Adrien took a few deep breaths, then let go of Plagg and leaned against the sink with both hands.

P: Adrien, what did you do?

A: I'm afraid I might have just ruined any chance of reconnecting Nathalie and my father.

P: What are you talking about?

A: Yesterday, I accidentally gave Nathalie the impression that I'm trying to set her up with my dad.

P: Is that so bad?

A: "Yes!" Adrien shouted. "Sorry, I didn't mean to yell. Now that she knows, Nathalie might feel awkward every time I try to bring them closer, and that could make things worse between them."

P: How can you be so sure? Nathalie is in love with your father. Maybe this won't bother her at all.

A: You heard what Nathalie keeps saying. She still thinks my dad feels nothing for her.

P: I still don't get the problem. Nathalie will realize she was wrong, and you'll have a happy family.

A: It's not that simple, Plagg. My dad isn't the emotional type. They both could convince themselves that their closeness means nothing and that they're only doing it for my sake. Even though they care about each other, they might feel comfortable staying close because they've never voiced their feelings. Now, with Nathalie knowing my intentions, it's going to be hard for them to pretend that their connection doesn't matter.

P: But how were you going to bring them closer if they're so bent on pretending?

A: I was hoping they'd figure it out on their own over time. I thought that as they spent more time together, my dad would realize how much he misses her and finally do something.

P: You're probably overthinking this.

A: I need someone else's advice.

P: What do you mean...

Plagg didn't finish as Adrien transformed into Chat Noir. He was about to leap out of the bathroom window to head to Marinette when he heard a knock on the door.

N: Adrien, is everything okay? I heard you shouting.

CN: Yes, Nathalie, everything's fine. I just stubbed my toe on the sink.

Adrien hated lying to Nathalie, but he knew he couldn't let her come in.

N: Do you want me to bring you some ointment?

CN: No, thank you. Is Father already waiting for breakfast?

N: Yes.

CN: I'll be right there.

Adrien waited until Nathalie's footsteps faded away, then turned to his kwami.
