Sam leaned against the counter, his mind spinning. He felt like he had just messed up, but wasn't sure how exactly. Had he really just kissed Gabriel? No, he reminded himself. No, Gabriel has kissed him. He had just kissed him back. Sam knew he had developed feelings for the angel, but he hadn't thought that Gabriel had returned them. Maybe he did though. The thought made Sam smile. But why had Gabriel taken off after. He had looked so confused when he backed away, like a million thoughts were swirling behind those beautiful golden eyes. Sam didn't like that. He didn't want the angel to overthink and gondola a rabbit hole about this. He pushed off the counter, setting his mug in the sink. He had to talk to him, make sure he was okay. He walked out the kitchen, climbing the stairs and exiting the bunker. It was a nice day out. The sun was shining, but there were enough clouds in the sky that it wasn't to bright to see. Sam scanned the area, trying to see which direction Gabriel had walked off to. He notices a figure off in the distance and smiled, Making out the outline of Gabriel's wings. He headed towards him, moving slowly so that he could try to figure out what he wanted to say.
Gabriel stood facing the sun, his eyes closed as he absorbed the warmth from the rays. He was still thinking about the kiss, a small smile on his face. Even if it turned out to have been a bad idea, he couldn't help being happy that he had done it. At least he would have the memor, and maybe that would be enough. He heard footsteps coming up behind him.
"Hello moose."
Sam stopped, he hadn't realized Gabriel had heard him approaching, not that he had been trying to sneak up on him, but he still hadn't figured out what he needed to say. He stepped forward the rest of the way, standing side by side with Gabe.
"Hi"
He glanced at the angels face. He looked so peaceful, a soft smile on his face. In the sunlight, his wings seemed to almost glow their golden color. He wanted to reach out and touch them, to feel how soft they were. As if reading his mind, Gabriel extended one of his 6 wings, draping it around Sam's back and arms.
Sma grinned to himself, his hands falling to his side, letting his fingers brush through the long feathers. They were soft as silk, yet felt stronger than any feather he had ever felt before. He couldn't help it as he reached up, running his hand along the ridge of the wing. The small feathers tickling his skin as he moved his hand.
"Sam."
"Yeah?"
Sams voice was quiet, as if he didn't want to shatter the peaceful feeling he had.
"I assume you came out here for something other than petting my wings?"
Sam blushed, pulling his hand away. He had completely forgotten what he had come out for.
"Um...yeah...I did."
"Well?"
Gabriel folded his wings back up, turning to face Sam, his eyes seeming to glitter in the sunlight. Sam lost his thoughts again as he stared at the angel. He wanted to reach up and run his hands through his long hair, wanted to feel how soft it was, and how nice it would feel to grip when he kissed him.
"OH right. In the kitchen, you kissed me.... I was wondering....er...why?"
Gabriel laughed softly, a grin forming on his face.
"Because you didn't kiss me."
Sam blushed, his cheeks feeling like they were burning.
"That's not what I meant, I mean why did you want to kiss me?"
Gabe gave sam the best bitch face he had ever pulled, just staring at him.
"Really? It's not that hard to figure out Sam."
Again, Sam felt his face heat up, Gabriel was turning him into a blushing school girl today, but he couldn't help it. Gabriel finally took pitty on him, stepping closer to him as he laughed. Sam's hands instinctively went to Gabriel's waist, holding him gently as Gabe spoke.
"I kissed you because you didn't kiss me. I wanted you to kiss me because I like you Sam. I kind of thought it was obvious. "
Sam just stared at him, chewing on his bottom lip. Fuck it he thought, he wrapped his arm around Gabriel's waist, pulling the smaller man flush against him. Gabriel's arms wrapped around Sam's neck, he tilted his head, extending the same invitation he ahd in the kitchen. This time Sam didn't hesitate, he closed the distance, kissing his angel. He brought one hand up, running it through Gabriel's hair, it was so silky soft. He gently tugged on the end of it, smiling at the small moan Gabriel let out.
When they finally broke away, both men were panting softly, small smiles on both of their faces. Gabriel reached down, grabbing Sam's hand and lacing their fingers together.
"I like you too Gabriel. In case it wasn't obvious. "
