.ೃ "PLEASE GARHER YOUR SQUAD IN THE HALL. THE STRATEGY MEETING IS ABOUT TO BEGIN."

Levi went and brought all his squad in the hall where more military men were sat at. Erwin was waiting patiently until everyone came.

He kept an eye on the door until Levi stepped inside it. Erwin got up and cleared his throat. "We've confirmed that Rod Reiss's Titan is approaching Orvud from the southwest. It should reach the city by dawn."

"Commander Erwin, we'd all like to hear what your plan is. How do you intend to evacuate the citizens in time?" One of the men asked. "We won't evacuate."

All people found in the room had completely changed expression. Most of them were anxious and some of them scared, worried. Their patience was slowing fading and Erwin was the only one they could blame if something happened; it was a suicidal mission but this time everyone was involved.

"We will have the citizens of Orvud remain right where they are." Erwin absurdly spoke, his clothes were being pulled and held onto by a soldier of his. " What the hell are you thinking, Erwin?! You won't evacuate the city? That Titan will be on top of us by dawn!"

Hange spoke instead of Erwin this time. Her tone was stern but calm like a parent explaining something dangerous to a kid. " That titan is an aberrant."

"What the hell does it matter?!"

"The titan in question is only attracted to large groups of people. We call these outliers Aberrants. It won't give a small village a second glance but it's making a beeline for this fortified city. Therefore if we were to evacuate the citizens to within Wall Sina ,the titan would change course to garbed them bringing the wall down on its way. Finally it would reach Mitras, the city with the highest population, and deliver a devastating blow to humanity. On our way here, we attempt to use Eren Jaegars power to control Titans, but Rod Reiss's Titan did not react." Hange explained bit by bit making sure not to miss any detail, gaining everyone's full attention. Her words were calm but dreadful, unsure of their decision.
The mission was suicidal and utterly horrific to think about what would happen if something went wrong.

Erwin looked at the mad soldier sternly. "The only place we will be able to stop that Titan is just outside the walls of Orvud District. This is why we must have the citizens remain here as a bait. However this doesn't change the fact that our first duty as soldiers is to protect the citizens."
