✧₊⁺MULTIPLE TITANS AND HUMANS WERE ON SEPARATE SIDES. SO FAR AWAY YET SO CLOSE
All soldiers were on their positions, ready for orders."Erwin, he's gonna climb up." Levi divulged. Their attention fixed on Reiner who was up , ready to fight. He was climbing up the wall.
"All troops, avoid clashing with the Armored Titan!" Erwin declared. "Stay away from him!"
That quadruped type is carrying luggage on its saddle. It wasn't one of those that just transformed. In which case, is that the enemy's scout? If it took notice of our approach and informed Reiner that must mean...
"That quadruped type down there is an intelligent titan. No... there might be others." Erwin deducted.
The tallest and hairiest titan smashed his fist into the ground, making all small titans run towards the soldiers.
"They're moving! Multiple two to three meters approaching!" Hange informed.
It's just like the raid at Utgard Castle...They'll go after the horses first. Their primary objective is to capture Eren, but... to achieve that, they'll take away our only escape option.
With Wall Maria still being deep in titan territory, we have no means to get back without horses. Just by killing our horses it completely blocks our escape and severs our supply line. Whether it wakes one week or a month, they can simply wait until there's nobody who can move. Without any of the risks of the battle, they can waltz in and take Eren once he's too weak to resist. Right now, the fact that all those larger titans are staying in formation is proof that their only purpose is to cage us in.
The Armored Titan was close to where Erwin's squat was situated at. "C-Commander! The Armored Titan is close!" Armin announced.
'Where is Bertolt?' Aurora looked around but there was no sign of Reiners friend. "We still don't know where Bertolt is!" Aurora added.
At this point, what i fear most...is that Reiner and Bertolt slaughter our horses unchecked... Therefore...
"Are you finally ready to say something? I could've had breakfast during the wait." Levi commented sarcastically. Erwin turned around. "Dirk Squad and Marlene Squad. Protect the horses at the gate with Klaus Squad!"
"Roger!"
"Levi Squad and Hange Squad! Take down the Armored Titan! Employ the Thunder Spears at your own discretion! Achieve your objective whatever it takes. This moment! This battle! The survival of humanity depends on it! Once more for humanity... DEDICATE YOUR HEARTS!"
Every each solider went and did what Erwin told them to without any comment. The soldiers were all scared, it's true, but at the end of the day they're all gonna die sooner or later. They knew before joining Survey Corps what's gonna happen so it's no point backing out now.
"Armin, Levi, Aurora. I did say Levi squad, but i need you to stay, Levi, Aurora." Erwin verbalised. "To protect the horses and not Eren?" Levi was trying to understand why Erwin is making him stay when he could be a better help for Eren. Aurora questioned the same thing as Levi did.
"That's right." Erwin began. "And to strike him down when the chance comes. You two match each others fighting skills and...i trust you both to take on the Beast Titan."
"Understood. Since i failed to kill that armored brat earlier, i'll make up for it with the Beast Titans head." Levi said. Aurora shared a look with Armin before she turned to Erwin. "Roger dat!" Both her and Levi flew down.
"Armin. I have a plan for the Armored Titan." Erwin mentioned. "There are two halves in this battle for humanity's fate. And one of them... im putting on Hange and your shoulders."
The Armored Titan was choosing whether to kill Erwin or the horses first when another lighting came behind him. Eren.
"Recruits! Move the remaining horses west! Protect the recruits with Dirk Squad!"
"Marlo, Where do we tie the horses!?" Flock pestered Marlo. Two titans around 3 meters ran towards where Marlo was going with the horses.
"That's a..a titan?" Marlo froze. Levi and Autora's 3D manoeuvre gears attached on each titan and slashed thought their nape. "Captain Levi, Aurora... Now's our chance, move!" Marlo took the horses along with other recruits and started running where they had to tie the horses at.
"Clear up the small ones already! Do it before the Beast Titan moves! And no casualties! Don't you dare die!" Levi ordered. "Shit, this is pathetic. The weak ones die so fast. Should've kept 'em up there." Levi looked around then at his sister "Aurora, go and get rid of the titans around Eren then come back. Don't you die!"
Aurora nodded then left at Levi's orders.
Struggling with three to four meter titans... casualties all over the place...The Survey Corps aren't nearly as strong as they once were. However ,without all those sacrifices, we never would've made it this far. Even if this plan fails, i might be able to reach the basement before i die...The basement Grisha Jaegar left behind. The truth of our world...
Reiner's roar was heard by everyone.
"Can't be..!"
A barrel was thrown over the wall, exactly next to Reiner. The last sight and sound Aurora heard before she left back to Levi was Armin calling Bertolt.
"He's talking about Annie?" Aurora muttered. "Oh..."
Everything around the lighting made by Bertolt's titan transformation burned down or died.
