Saoirse’s POV
The café was bustling as usual, the steady hum of chatter and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filling the air. i was wiping down the counter when i saw Reeve walk in. His unexpected visit brought a smile to my face, but i couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. He seemed tense, more serious than usual.
“Uy, Reeve! Anong ginagawa mo rito?” i asked, trying to keep the mood light.
“Hey, Saoirse. I was hoping we could talk,” he said, his voice low and serious.
“Oo naman, tungkol ba saan?," i replied, leading him to a quieter corner of the café.
Reeve took a deep breath, looking like he was struggling to find the right words. “Saoirse, there’s something i’ve been meaning to tell you for a while now. It’s about how i feel about...”
Just as he was about to continue, my boss called out from the counter. “Saoirse, asan ka na naman ba? May customer na naghihintay ng kape rito!”
I glanced apologetically at Reeve. “I’m so sorry, Reeve. Unahin ko na muna ’ to. I’ll be right back.”
Reeve nodded, though his expression was a mix of frustration and resignation. “It’s okay. I,’ll wait.”
I quickly attended to the customer, making their coffee order as fast as i could. My mind raced with curiosity about what Reeve was about to say. As soon as i finished, i rushed back to where Reeve was sitting.
“Sorry about that, Reeve. What were you saying?” i asked, hoping he would continue.
He hesitated, then shook his head. “Nevermind, Saoirse. It’s not important. I have some things to do, so i should get going.”
"Are you sure? Para kasing may importante kang sasabihin kanina, Reeve," i pressed, but he was already standing up.
“it’s fine, really,” he insisted, forcing a smile. “i’ll see you later.”
Before I could say anything else, Reeve turned and left the café. I watched him go, feeling a pang of disappointment and confusion. What was he trying to tell me?
Reeve’s POV
As Reeve walked away from the café, frustration gnawed at him. He pulled out his phone, needing a distraction. Just then, his phone rang. It was his personal assistant, Moira.
“Moira, ano ’yun?” he answered, trying to keep his ton even.
“Sir Reeve, i thought you should know... i saw Leon and Saoirse at the park yesterday. Parang nagd-date sila.”
Reeve stopped in his tracks, his grip tightening on the
phone. “Are you sure?” he asked, a mixture of disbelief and anger bubbling up inside him.“Yes, i’m sure,” Moira confirmed. “They seemed really close.”
Reeve’s mind raced, fury overtaking his thoughts. “This wasn't over, not by a long shot.”
