Closure

Saoirse’s POV

After i was discharged from the hospital, Leon and i decided to visit Reeve where he was being held. The days leading up to the visit were filled with a mix of anxiety and determination. Despite everything, Reeve had been a big part of my life, and i needed closure.

We arrived at the detention center, the stark, cold building adding to the heaviness in my heart. As we were led to the visiting area, i felt Leon’s reassuring presence beside me, his hand gently squeezing mine.

Reeve was sitting on the other side of the glass, looking tired and defeated. When he saw us, he hesitated before picking up the phone. I took a deep breath and picked up the receiver on my side.

“Reeve,” i began, my voice steady but filled with emotion. “Why did you feel it was necessary to go that far?”

Reeve looked down, unable to meet my eyes. He took a moment before responding, his voice low and filled with regret. “I was just caught up with all my emotions. The jealousy, the anger...it all consumed me. I know that an apology won’t fix anything, but i’m sorry for everything i did. i never wanted to hurt you, Saoirse.”,

His words hit me hard. Despite the pain he had caused, i could see the torment in his eyes. He continued, “I wish for you and Leon to live happily, without any pressure. You both deserve that.”

Tears welled up in my eyes, and i glanced at Leon, who was listening intently, his expression a mix of sadness and understanding. “Reeve,” i said softly, “I hope you find peace. We all make mistakes, but what matters now is how we move forward.”

Reeve finally looked up, his eyes meeting mine. There was a flicker of gratitude in his gaze. “Thank you, Saoirse. And i’m truly sorry. I hope one day you can forgive me.”

I nodded, knowing that forgiveness would take time but also understanding the importance of letting go of the past. “Take care of yourself, Reeve.”

As we left the detention center, i felt a sense of closure. The road ahead would not be easy, but with Leon by my side, i felt hopeful. We had faced so much together, and now, we could focus on building a future free from the shadows of the past.”

Leon squeezed my hand, his eyes filled with love and determination. “We’ll get through this, Saoirse. Together.”

I nodded, feeling a sense of peace wash over me. “Together.”
