Tragedy

Saoirse’s POV

The café was bustling with its usual morning energy. As i busied myself with orders, i noticed Reeve sitting at one of the tables. This was my chance to share my news. I made my way over, excitement bubbling up inside me.

“Reeve! May sasabihin ako sayo,” i said, taking a seat across from him.

“Ano ’yun, Saoirse?” he asked, his tone casual but his eyes wary.

“Leon asked me out, and i said yes,” i said, unable to hide my smile.

For a split second, something dark flashed in Reeve’s eyes, but he quickly masked it with a forced smile. “That’s great, Saoirse. I’m happy for you.”

I nodded, feeling a pang of doubt. “Thanks, Reeve. It means a lot to me.”

The rest of the day passed in a blur. I couldn’t shake the feeling that Reeve was hiding something, but i pushed it aside, focusing on the excitement of seeing Leon later.

Later that evening

Leon texted me just as i was finishing up my shift. “Want to go for a walk?” he asked. I agreed, eager to spend more time with him.

We met up and strolled through the lively streets, the city lights twinkling above us. We stopped at a claw machine, laughing as we tried to win stuffed toys. After a few attempts, Leon managed to snag a cute bear and handed it to me with a triumphant grin.

“Saoirse, sayo ’to. A little souvenir,” he said, his eyes sparkling with happiness.

We continued our walk, stopping to take pictures and buy ice cream from a street vendor. It felt like a perfect night, filled with laughter and carefree moments.

As We Walked Home

We were walking down a quieter street, talking about everything and nothing, when i noticed a car speeding towards us. My heart lurched in my chest.

“Leon!” I screamed, but he was too focused on me, oblivious to the danger.

In a split second, i made a decision. I grabbed Leon and tried to pull him out of the way. The next moment was a blur of screeching tires, blinding headlights, and a sharp pain that radiated through my entire body. Everything went pitch black.

Leon’s POV

One moment, i was gazing at Saoirse, her laughter echoing in my ears. The next, i was on the ground, disoriented and confused. I turned to see Saoirse lying a few feet away, her body still.

“Saoirse!” I screamed, crawling over to her. “Saoirse, gumising ka please!”

I fumbled for my phone, my hands shaking uncontrollably as i dialed for an ambulance. “Please, hurry,” I begged the operator, tears streaming down my face.

Saoirse’s POV

The darkness was overwhelming, and i felt like i was floating in an endless void. I could faintly hear Leon’s voice, desperate and scared, but i couldn’t respond. The pain was distant, like it belonged to someone else.

All i could think about was Leon, hoping he was okay. And then, everything faded away completely.

Leon’s POV

As the ambulance arrived, i held Saoirse’s hand tightly, refusing to let go. “Stay with me, Saoirse,” i whispered. “Please, stay with me.”

The paramedics worked quickly, loading her onto a stretcher and into the ambulance. I climbed in beside her, my heart pounding with fear. I couldn’t lose her. Not now, not ever.

As the sirens wailed and the ambulance sped towards the hospital, i silently prayed for a miracle, hoping against hope that Saoirse would wake up and everything would be okay.
