Awakening

Leon’s POV

Reeve had been arrested for the damage he caused, and the weight of the past few days was heavy on my shoulders. Each visit to the hospital felt like an eternity, waiting for any sign of Saoirse waking up. The doctors assured me she was slowly recovering, but the waiting was agony.

Today, i decided to bring some of her favorite food, hoping the familiar scent might coax her back to consciousness. As i walked into her room, i placed the food on the small table by her bed and sat down, holding her hand gently. I left for a minute to ask the nurse about any information of Saoirse’s Recovery.

Saoirse’s POV

I woke up feeling soggy, my mind hazy as i tried to piece together the events that led me here. My eyes fluttered open, and i saw Carlos and my Lola sitting quietly in the corner. I called out softly, my voice weak.

Carlos looked up, shock and relief flooding his face. “Ate! Gising ka na!” he exclaimed, quickly getting up and calling for the nurse.

The nurse came in to check on me, her gentle touch and reassuring words a comfort. As i gained full consciousness, i still felt weak, but memories started to trickle back. I remembered being with Leon just before the accident.

“Si Leon. Asan si Leon?” i asked Carlos, my voice trembling.

Just as the tears started to well up in my eyes, the door burst open, and Leon entered the room, breathing heavily as if he had run miles. Relief washed over me at the sight of him.

“Saoirse, andito ako” he said, rushing to my side. “I’m so sorry i couldn’t protect you.”

Carlos and Lola quietly left the room to give us some space. Leon took my hand in his, his eyes filled with a mix of relief and guilt.

“It’s not your fault, Leon,” I said softly, trying to reassure him. “You’re here with me. That’s all that matters.”

He looked at me, his eyes glistening. “There’s so much i need to tell you,” he said, his voice breaking. “Reeve...he’s my brother. And he was the one who hit you with the car. He was trying to hurt me, but you saved me.”

The shock of his words hit me hard, and i couldn’t hold back my tears. Everything was so overwhelming. “Reeve? Pero bakit?”

Leon explained everything, from their past to the confrontation at the police station. His voice was filled with pain and regret, and as he spoke, i felt a wave of emotions crash over me.

Tears streamed down my face, and i couldn’t keep my emotions in check. Leon pulled me into a tight hug, holding me as i cried. “I’m so sorry, Saoirse,” he whispered. “Everything is settled now. You’re safe.”
