"Oh, Miyeon-ah?" Yuqi asked, waiting for Miyeon's response.

"S-Sorry it took me so long, but could we meet?" the brunette asked, wiping her tears.

"Of course," said the woman. "Let's meet at your house tomorrow morning, if that's okay with you."

The doorbell rang and Miyeon ran to the door, welcoming Yuqi, but behind the blonde was someone else: Soojin.

"Soojin-ah..."

"It's been a while, Miyeon."

Miyeon made the two women sit on the sofa, preparing some herbal teas.

"So? Have you read the letter?" the blonde asked, sipping her herbal tea.

"...Yes." Miyeon said, looking at her reflection in her cup. "Thanks for giving it to me anyway... I didn't know that my father..."

"Yeon, I brought Soojin with me, because she was with Nicha that time."

"How...?"

"I am the daughter of a chef and my mother worked for Nicha's family. When we were younger, we became best friends." the woman said, thinking back to the past. "When Mr. Yontararak died, Nicha went through the worst time of her life. She was only fifteen years old and had seen her father's murder take place before her eyes. For days, Nicha locked herself in her room, didn't eat or say a word. One day I managed to get into her room and that night she told me what had happened." Soojin looked at Miyeon, frowning. "Your father, Cho Kyu Sung, had entered Mr. Danuch's studio that night, pointing a gun at his chest. Nicha was there and witnessed the scene. Kyu Sung threatened Danuch, telling him he didn't want to do that job anymore. He told him he had to return to you, so he killed him and stole his money from the safe he had hidden in the room. The worst thing is that Danuch and Kyu Sung were best friends. Your father was his right-hand man and Nicha saw him as an uncle, but that night... Nicha lost faith in people and their bonds. She swore to her father that she would avenge him and so she did, but finding out from you that that man never did anything for you of everything he told her father infuriated her. Her father had been killed needlessly."

Miyeon was shocked, as a few tears tracked down her face. Their past was much more complicated than she thought. The girl remembered the words that Nicha spoke in her father's studio. She was talking about her father.

"Nicha married you, because she believed that you were the right redemption for her father's life. She thought that money was really spent on you, but that wasn't the case. At first she wanted revenge, using you for sex or to torture you, but she didn't have the courage and her feelings got the better of her. She told me that she was finally trusting someone and that she was sure that you wouldn't have abandoned her, but... We all know how things went."

"I-I... I didn't want to abandon her. I thought she was a heartless monster." the brunette said, shaking. "Or at least that's what that man made me believe. He hadn't told me about what my father had done."

"Miyeon, please. Tell us who it is... Nicha could be killed if we don't do something." Yuqi pleaded.

"What do you want to say? How is Nicha?" she asked, worried.

"Not well." the blonde admitted, drawing the girl's attention towards her. "She's trying in every way to distract herself, throwing herself headlong into work. She is attacking her debtors, torturing them with absurd demands. She even ignores our advice. Plus she's trying to hunt down the mole. Days ago she risked her own life."

At the news, Miyeon's heart began to beat in terror.

"Someone is reporting our movements in advance, as it happened that night that Shuhua and Jin brought her back home after the attack. We believe they're the same who gave you the information about your father's death. No one other than our team knew about that mission."

Miyeon didn't know what to do. In her heart she knew she still loved Nicha and seeing her suffer like this made her feel bad.

"Nicha is falling apart. She's slowly letting go. If it weren't for Soojin she wouldn't still be here now." the brunette looked at Yuqi, perplexed. "I told you a few days ago that Soojin and Shuhua had found her unconscious in the pool at her house and that she had tried to commit suicide. Too many things happened at once and she couldn't handle it. Soojin and Shuhua saved her, but we don't know how lucky we'll be next time. Nicha also feels responsible for Shuhua's health condition. She was with the boss during a mission a few days ago, but she suffered more damage and was forced to stay in hospital for a few days and the Boss even pushed Soojin away, asking her to stay with Shuhua. She doesn't allow to stay close to her. It's worrying all of us."

Miyeon was terrified, but there was still that part of herself that stopped her from running to her.

"I-I..." Miyeon thought about it, before looking at the two women. "I want to help you."

The two women smiled, looking at Miyeon.

"I don't know his name for sure, but on the day of my exam, he was with Yuqi. She was replacing Soyeon."

Yuqi thought about it, before standing up.

"It's Kun!... I knew that guy was hiding something." Yuqi said. "Thank you, Miyeon-ah."

"I believed him because I believed he was like you. I thought he wanted to save me from Nicha but instead... He took me away from her. And I believed him... like an idiot." the brunette looked up, looking at the two women. "I would like you to do me a favor... I would like you to convince Nicha to come to my graduation ceremony. It will be October 23rd. I need to see her again and... I would like to talk to her."

Yuqi smiled, confusing the girl.

"That day...!" Soojin exclaimed, surprised.

"She can't?"

"No no, it's just..." Yuqi began.

"It's her birthday." Soojin completed, smiling.

Miyeon's heart began to beat wildly. In her mind there was only the image of Nicha.

How could she hate someone who had loved her so much?

Someone who had treated her so kindly during her first time?

She has to take her Minnie back.
