Doha, Qatar
The successful family meeting had brought a sense of relief and excitement. With our families' blessings, I felt more confident about the future. I decided it was time to take the next step and formally propose to Hidaya.
One evening, after Maghrib prayer, I sat down with my parents in the living room. The room was quiet, the only sound was the soft hum of the air conditioner. My heart pounded as I prepared to speak.
"Abbie, Mamu, I want to propose to Hidaya," I said, my voice steady but filled with emotion. "I believe she's the one for me, Insha'Allah."
Mamu's eyes lit up, and Abbie nodded approvingly. "Masha'Allah, Ahmad. We’re happy for you. How do you plan to do it?" Abbie asked.
"I was thinking of something simple but meaningful. Maybe a family dinner where I can express my intentions clearly," I replied.
"That sounds lovely, Ahmad," Mamu said. "We’re here to support you."

I was in my room, finishing an assignment, when Ama knocked on the door and walked in. She had a knowing smile on her face.
"Hidaya, I have a feeling that something special is about to happen," she said, her eyes twinkling.
"What do you mean, Ama?" I asked, curious.
"Ahmed’s family invited us over for dinner this weekend. I believe it might be something important," she said, her voice filled with anticipation.
My heart skipped a beat. Could it be? "Insha'Allah, Ama. Let's see what happens."

The weekend arrived quickly. My family and I prepared a special dinner, ensuring everything was perfect. I dressed in a clean white jallabiya, my heart filled with anticipation.
As the doorbell rang, I took a deep breath and opened the door to welcome Hidaya and her family. They looked beautiful and happy, which eased some of my nerves. Hidaya's eyes met mine, and I saw a mix of curiosity and excitement.
"Assalam Alaikum," I greeted them, ushering them inside.
"Wa Alaikum Assalam," they replied warmly.
The dinner was a delightful affair. Our families exchanged stories and laughter, and I felt a sense of belonging. As the meal came to an end, I knew it was time.
I stood up, feeling all eyes on me. "Excuse me, everyone. There’s something important I’d like to say," I began, my voice steady.
I turned to Hidaya, who looked at me with wide, expectant eyes. "Hidaya, from the moment I met you, I felt a connection that I couldn’t ignore. Your kindness, intelligence, and dedication to your faith have deeply impressed me. With the blessings of our families and the guidance of Allah, I would like to ask for your hand in marriage."
The room was silent for a moment, and then Hidaya's eyes filled with tears of joy. "Ahmad, I feel the same way. I’d be honored to accept your proposal, Insha'Allah."
Our families erupted in applause and congratulations, and I felt a wave of relief and happiness wash over me. Mamu and Ama hugged each other, and Abbie shook hands with my uncle who has been a father figure my Baba died years back, both of them smiling proudly.

The night felt like a beautiful dream. Ahmed's proposal was heartfelt and sincere, and I couldn’t have imagined a better way for this moment to happen. As we sat together, our families celebrating around us, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude.
After dinner, Ahmed and I found a quiet corner to talk. "Thank you for making this night so special, Ahmed," I said, my voice filled with emotion.
"Thank you for saying yes, Hidaya," he replied, his eyes reflecting the same emotions. "I look forward to our future together, Insha'Allah."
"Insha'Allah," I agreed, feeling a deep sense of peace and happiness.

As the evening drew to a close, I felt an immense sense of fulfillment. Hidaya's acceptance of my proposal was a blessing, and our families' support made it even more special. I knew that this was just the beginning of a beautiful journey together.
Driving to the supermarket, I couldn’t help but smile, thinking about the future we would build together, grounded in faith and love. I prayed for Allah’s guidance and strength, knowing that with His blessings, we would overcome any challenges that lay ahead.
That night, as I lay in bed, I felt a sense of peace I hadn’t felt in a long time. With Hidaya by my side and our families' support, I knew that our future was bright and filled with promise. Alhamdulillah for this beautiful journey, and for the love and faith that would guide us through it.
