~Aadya~
"I will get that Mumma!" I ran to get the door, guessing it was Juhi and boy was I right.
"You will get the door?! How- oh! I see. That's what I thought, where did the Sun rise from today. Hello Juhi! Welcome welcome. Thank God you're here or else she wasn't going to come out of her room!"
That made Juhi and I look at each other at once and we broke out giggling.
"What was that about?" Mom narrowed her eyes at us and as Juhi was about to spill the beans, I interjected, "Haha no...nothing Mumma, I will...uh just go, show Juhi around, yeah?"
"Yeah sure. Juhi beta I will ask someone to get your bags in her room. Go shoot girls!"
"Thank you for inviting me Auntie. I was dyyyiinngg to attend a wedding for the longest time! I am so excited." Juhi squealed clapping like a little kid who had just got her favourite candy.
I shook my head at her antics.
"It's always my pleasure, darling. In fact thank you ssso much for coming! Please try and transfuse some of your excitement into her as well." Mom exclaimed patting Juhi's head and smacked my forehead playfully meanwhile.
"Ma!" I whined rubbing the area.
"Let's go Juhi before Mumma gets any more violent." I tugged her along holding her hand, giving mumma the side eye.
The moment I entered my room, Juhi latched onto me tightly and I was taken by surprise.
"woahh geeze!!"
"You're the best Aadya! I mean pardon me for behaving so outrightly at your place, for your sister's wedding but honestly, I had never thought we could grow so close to each other that- "
"Juhi, you're my only friend and the sweetest person I've ever met in life. Please don't think about anything else. I have had trust issues and I know you might be thinking about my prev- "
"Okay okay okay Aadya, not even half a percent was my intention to dampen your mood, especially on a jouyous occasion! I'm sorry...Come on let's do something fun!" She swiftly dodged the topic that she knew would definitely going to take me down a memory lane...for bad.
"Yeah! So let's get started?" I proposed, rubbing my hands excitedly, for the upcoming session of our study.
"Uhh get started with what hehe?" She asked awkwardly and I chuckled.
"Well, the PYQs and well the concepts you had doubts in, right?" I asked semi-sure of whatever she had going on in her mind.
"Ohh yeah yeah...of course haha. Gosh Aadya! You're probably the first girl in the entire universe- ok if not universe, you're defo the first and the only girl who gets excited like a baby in the name of studies. I mean over wedding functions and events like that?! I Mine is a big no no!"
"Oh I wish what a world would it be, with people like that! A pool of intellectuals!" I looked up at the ceiling with my Chemistry book in my hand and twirled in my own fantasy.
"You defo don't belong to this planet, Ady!!" Juhi jibed in half horror and her face made me laugh that very instant.
"I'd have loved to belong to 'this planet'-", - I air quoted, "-had their not existed the typical wedding hungry relatives waiting all their lives, saving all their energies to pour out all their tantrums and show off their perfect matchmaking skills exclusively in wedding functions."
