I woke up to the loud sound of the blender from the kitchen and realized Ariana was gone. Sitting up on the couch, I massaged my temples. "Wine hangovers are a bitch," I heard Maddox say with a chuckle. He walked toward me with a smoothie. "Here, drink this. It will help," he said, handing me the smoothie. I hesitated at first. "Oh, just take it, you asshole," he laughed. I smiled, took the smoothie, and tasted it. My eyes widened as I realized it wasn't bad at all. "Oh wow. It's actually good," I said to him. He laughed, "Uh huh," and walked back to the kitchen, returning with his own smoothie.
Looking around, I noticed we were alone. "They both had to leave. Ari was called into the studio and Courtney went with her." I made an "oh" face and sipped on my smoothie. Maddox cleared his throat, "Um, I'm sorry about last night," he said. I was confused at first, then it hit me. We almost kissed again, and I told her about my dreams. Fuck, this is why I don't drink wine much; it makes me talk too much.
I pinched the bridge of my nose, "I told her about the dreams," I said to him. Maddox coughed on his smoothie, "Wait, really? What did she say?" he asked. I chuckled, "You interrupted us," I replied. Maddox leaned back on the couch, "Oh... shit, man. I'm sorry, Macky," he apologized again. I sighed, "It's okay. Honestly, I don't know what the fuck I'm doing. I'm falling for a girl I barely know, and she's in a relationship," I said, taking a big sip of my smoothie.
"We can all see it. You two are into each other. It's just a matter of who admits it first. If you like her, then go for it," he said to me. I didn't say anything in return, just took a breath and grabbed my phone. Maddox spoke up again, "I mean, you guys did look cute all cuddled up on the couch this morning. And you were all snuggled up while playing the games last night," he said with a smile as he got up and walked to his room. I smiled and threw a pillow at him. "Stop throwing shit at me, Mac!" he shouted as he ran to his room. I laughed and looked at my text messages, seeing that Ariana had texted me.
Ari: Sorry I left without saying goodbye. You were sleeping so hard. Maybe we can do lunch tomorrow?
Ari: Oh, ps, you're an amazing cuddler. ❤️
Me: Hey, it's ok. I just woke up to Maddox making the loudest sounds in the kitchen. But he made me a smoothie. 🤷🏻♂️
Me: I'm amazing at a lot of things, and cuddling is one of them. 🫡😊 But yes, lunch sounds good tomorrow. Just meet me at the office.
Ari: Good morning, sleeping beauty. ❤️
Ari: Lol, was the smoothie at least good? And amazing at a lot of things, huh? That doesn't surprise me. 🫣 Okay, I'll see you at 11 tomorrow?
