A few days after Johann was captured. Rory has not seen him since then.
And ever since, there hasn't been any dead bodies reported which only made everyone believe that Isac is really the killer.

Everyone in the church and those who knew him could not believe the news when it finally broke in the whole town.

Isac had a figure of a loyal server to the church. Kind and thoughtful. They thought he'll never have the guts to even pick a fight or hurt an ant.

But the worry and sympathy they had in the first few days for the serial killer was quickly exchanged by fear and hatred.

The whole town demanded that he be given a death sentence. They wanted it to be public for everyone to see his death and find their justice and relief that he will never return to harm them again.

Some people took Johann's captivity as a chance and they started leaving. While some others decided to just wait for the train to return and take them somewhere far from the nightmareous town.

And unfortunately, Rory is one of them.

She wanted to keep her promise that she'll stay and never abandon Isac. But she couldn't even visit him because the police would not allow anybody to see him.

His cell is guarded by 20 guards every 24 hours. Watching him like a hawk. They fear that if someone talks and comes to meet him. He'll figure out a plan to escape.

They didn't even give him an attorney to defend himself and it devastated Rory. She tried to plead to get him an attorney but the cops last told her that Isac's fate is sealed.

Although there will be a hearing. But even then the decision has been made.

Rory figured to attend Isac's first and last trial despite the cops telling her she didn't have to. Because the next day after it would be the day she leaves.

"This is a surprise. The first time we met, I was also your only customer." Rory stated while Kali serves her dinner in their restaurant.

Kali only smiled and looked around. It's been days since they last had many customers. But after Johann was captured, a lot of people still left even if there were many who chose to stay.

"Some of our staff resigned too. But it's not that big of a deal anyway since we hardly get any customers even by day." She said as she brought the tray back to the counter before grabbing a chair and sat not too far from Rory.

"Why don't you leave with Adam? I'm sure he must've asked you to come with him. Unless you have a family here." Rory asked as she started to eat.

Kali only sighed before replying.

"We're planning to stay another month. Just to save up. Besides, we're also going to the trial."

"Even if he's Johann. We believe that somewhere in him is still Isac. Otherwise, we would've been dead long ago." She adds and Rory chuckles bitterly.

She could feel her eyes burning again. Her chest was suddenly tightening and her heart felt heavy again just by the mention of his name.

Rory feels absolutely horrible because she couldn't do anything to help her boyfriend. She absolutely fell in love with him and hoped that their relationship would turn out better than she had with her ex.

She hoped Isac is the man she needed. But it hasn't been long in their relationship. Everything took a big turn.

Sometimes she hoped that none of it happened. Or that she never found out and Isac just continued hiding it. Maybe that would've been better. Maybe they could've had more time.
