"My best friend would be proud!" Rory flinched when someone suddenly spoke behind her.
She turned around and saw Adam and Emil both holding a mop and cleaning materials. Emil held out his hand to Adam and he gave him a dollar.
"I always knew you had it in you!" Emil chuckled waving the dollar to her which he won from a bet that Rory would snap at Charlie.
Adam only rolled his eyes and let Emil go first to clean the face I mean the mess on the floor that Rory made.
"I bet you already saw Kali inside." Adam said to her.
"Yeah. When do you get off work?" She asked.
"Probably after school too."
"So you guys made a bet if I'm gonna kick his ass?"
Adam only scoffs and picks up the mops he was carrying.
"Yeah! Clearly I lost a dollar for it." He said in a playful tone. "I'll see you around, Rory." Adam waves the mop to her before following Emil to the cafeteria.
Rory decides to just go to her next class. It hasn't even been an hour and the rumors about what happened in the cafeteria already spread all over the campus.
She didn't feel an ounce of regret. And instead, she was rather proud of what she did because she knew she was finally able to break the chains that Charlie had bound her on. She finally feels free from him.
Rory's classes finished and it was time for her to go home. But she decided to wait since she wanted to see Kali and the boys. So she stayed at the library to wait for them.
While waiting, Rory was going over her social media when she encountered a page that talks about mystery events.
It piqued her attention because the title felt odd. And it read; Ghost Town still exists, what could've happened?
Rory opened the article and she was surprised to see the pictures of establishments from the town. She continued to read through the article.
Apparently, someone stumbled in the town hoping to spend the night. But the whole town was empty of people. There weren't any living things to be found. But they found blood all over the place and destroyed buildings like someone decided to throw a bomb everywhere.
Of course she knew right away that it was the same town where they came from. The article was posted about a day ago but it hasn't garnered any attention. Although there were some people in the comments, most of them think that it's just one of those staged blogs to get publicity.
But if they didn't find the bodies... Where could Johann have taken them?
Rory suddenly asks in the back of her mind. Then realizing that the town literally stands in the middle of a large forest anybody would forget it exists.Rory decides to look up more information about the town. But most of the search results she finds are similar ghost towns but likely the same as the people on the comments claimed. Staged for publicity.
She eventually gave up and luckily, Kali texted in time that they were on their way to the library. Rory figured to just meet them on the way so she grabbed her things and decided to leave the building.
There aren't too many people around since it's almost night time and the evening classes were also canceled.
Rory hasn't gotten far from the library when Charlie suddenly popped out of nowhere. And he looks pissed.
"What? Came to smash a tray on my face too?" She asked bluntly.
"You've really become a pain in the ass Rory. I'll give you that. But don't think I'll let this slide." He warns as he slowly walks towards her.
