"She is definitely not okay." Emil murmured.
They are currently helping Rory pack up all her things and get her ready to leave. Today will be Isac's execution which will be the first thing in the morning.
"Of course she is not okay. If it was me and Adam. I'd be bawling my eyes out if I have to leave him knowing he'll die." Kali muttered sarcastically and loudly pulled on the masking tape to tape the box they were filling up with Rory's books.
Ever since Rory finished talking to Isac and got back to her apartment. She hadn't stopped crying since and didn't even sleep. Kali and the other two stayed with her to comfort her but she didn't even let them get inside her room.
She locked herself all night crying alone.
Around 4 am. The three woke up to Rory packing up her stuff and they decided to help her.
But every time she closes a box and moves to fill up another one. She'll end up crying again.
"Her relationship with Isac isn't very deep yet but she's crying as if she's spent seasons with him." Adam sighed as he helped Kali to carry the box near the door.
A carrier would pick them up which Rory called to ship her things to someplace they did not figure to ask anymore since they didn't think they'll be seeing each other again.
"Still. The time they spent together mattered less if they really love each other." Kali replies.
They finished packing about an hour and the carrier arrived just in time to pick them up.
"Are you sure you want us to go? We don't mind waiting until the train comes." Kali said to her after Rory asked them to leave when they arrived at the station.
There are a lot of families there as well. Waiting for the train to take them far from the town.
"Go on. There's still time for you to get to the square." Rory said to them and Emil suddenly scoffs.
"I'd rather not go and watch them kill my friend." He said in a sarcastic tone. "Besides. I'm sure Isac won't want us to be there..." He added.
"I'll be okay guys. I prefer leaving by myself. You don't need to stay with me anymore." Rory insists and forces a smile to the three.
She had finally stopped crying. However, her expression had remained blank and she did not show any other expressions as if she had become hollow.
"Well... We're not gonna insist on staying if you really want us to go. But be careful out there." Adam said to her and shook hands with the girl. Emil also did the same and bid his farewell.
"It was nice knowing you, Rory. Even if it was for a short time. I'm sure we would have been good friends." Kali said and hugged Rory tightly.
"Be careful. Don't hesitate to leave this place if you think there's no future here." Rory said to her a little playfully and Kali only laughed in response.
The three eventually left the station as Rory asked. She didn't want the three to stay with her as she leaves. As much as possible, she wanted to leave everything she knew from that town behind. Which is also why she never bothered mentioning where she would go.
As much as she despised it. Rory had no other choice but to go home.
She had called her older sister, Kyla and told her everything that happened.
Unlike the rest of the family, Kyla cared about her sister at least. She felt bad when Rory left and tried to reach out but it was Rory who shut them all out and she didn't know where her sister went.Despite the competition and comparison they were put on by their family, they had a good relationship as siblings and they were never jealous of each other. And when Rory started getting involved in trouble, Kyla's the only person in their family who reached out to her and helps her out. Even after Rory's relationship with her ex ended.
The news made Kyla extremely worried. She had informed the entire family about it and they insist that Rory must go home. They wanted her to go to counseling assuming she must've been traumatized by the events in the town.
Although them accepting her back to the family doesn't really tell if she's forgiven. Rory don't have much choice but to come back because she's back from the start and she didn't even have the strength nor motivation to try something on her own.
It's not like being insulted and scolded by her family would hurt more than her losing Isac.
She cared and love him a lot more than she expected. And she doesn't regret it even if their relationship ended badly.
It was because of Isac that Rory started believing again. She started to believe that it was God who sent Isac to her to learn.
That even if she had lost all interest in doing anything. She was grateful to have met Isac and realized a lot of things.Isac remained faithful to his God despite knowing his fate. That even his last words to her embodies how much he is proud to be a server...
"If Eve had never been tempted to eat the apple, God wouldn't have come down to punish them. Then you and I never existed."
"I thank Him because through you, I learned how to fall in love and be strong enough to finally end my own demise."
"He sent you to me to be my savior."
Those were his last words to her...
It's just sad that they only had a short time to spend together. But all those memories they created will forever be cherished.
She will remember it all and move on because she knew that's what Isac would've wanted for her.
"It's coming!!! The train is coming!!!"
Rory's train of thoughts were interrupted when she heard the people clamoring. She could sense a lot of emotions from them but relief and happiness were the most evident.
She turns her head to the railroad and could also spot the train coming from afar. It was still far but she could already hear it too.
Rory sighed and stood up from the bench. She stood not too far from the edge waiting for the train to finally arrive.
She didn't bother about the people around her anymore and just waited.
All she wanted now was to leave everything behind.
Come home and let God decide what the next chapter of her life will be...
"I hope you don't get off the wrong train, Rory."
I hope you liked the chapter.
