Chapter 21

I turn around and look down to see who was calling out for me.

Me: Jack! What are you doing here?

Jack: Peter, I've been looking all over for you, I went by the place you and Mary were staying at and couldn't find you.

Me: Well, here I am Jack, so why were you looking for me?

Jack: Nothing much, but Ronald asked me to tell you to meet him at Rhode Peak, it's a small cliff overlooking the town just outside the town gate.

Scarlett: I know where that is, but it's a bit outside, well end up missing the show. Is it really that important Jack? Can't it wait?

Jack: But...Ronald told me its urgent...

I look at Scarlett and then back at Jack.

Me: I get it, I'll go meet Ronald, he did save my life Afterall.

Scarlett: I'll come too!

Me: But you'll miss the show, you really wanted to see this one right?

Scarlett: There's always next year, Plus you're going to owe me drinks when we get back!!

Me: Ok, ok I'll get you a pint of beer when we get back.

Scarlett: Not good enough. You gotta promise you'll buy me a pint when we get back.

Me: What?

Scarlett: Just Do It!! 

Me: Okay...I promise I'll buy you a pint when we get back.

Scarlett: Alright then, we're gonna need a horse to the peak. 

Me: Aw man, our horses are left at the hotel.

Scarlett: Don't worry about that.

Scarlett walks off into the crowd and starts talking to some people in the crowd. They seem happy to talk to her, after a bit of talking and pointing off into the distance, Scarlett rushes back to me and Jack.

Scarlett: Got it! I just borrowed our horse from one of my customers. He said we can use the horse as long as we return by tomorrow. Most folk are out with their friends and family today, so they won't really be needing their horses. Lucky Us! 

Me: Wow! I guess I really am gonna owe you one after this. 

Scarlett: Don't you forget it!

Me: Alright Jack we're gonna go meet Ronald. You stay here and have fun. You by yourself?

Jack: Oh, don't worry about me, I'm here with the orphanage from the church, all of us here along with a nun to look out for us. 

Me: Alright then! See ya soon Jack.

I wave Jack goodbye as I walk with Scarlett towards the horse.

Scarlett: Okay, here he is. You get on first.

Me: Umm......I don't know how to ride a horse.

Scarlett: WHAAATT! No way, you're an official from the government and you don't know how to ride a horse?!

Me: No, I don't

She opens her mouth gasping with shock, her facing looking almost as long as the horses.

Scarlett gets on the horse and draws out her hand to me, her face like a mirror, reflecting the moving lights from the busy town capturing her gentle smile.

Scarlett: Get on princess, I'll be your knight in shining Armour tonight~
