Erik left a little bit ago, so now it was just me, Jani, and Carrie.
"I colored this." Carrie said as she held out a piece of paper to Jani.
He took it and smiled when he looked at it.
I wonder what she drew. I didn't have to wonder for long though because Jani turned the picture around so I could see it. It was drawn in crayon. Three people were in a line.
Jani, me, and Carrie. Maybe she knew something I didn't. I smiled at my niece. "That's very good Carrie." I said as I smiled.
She smiled back and nodded, turning her attention to drawing something else. I
Stood up. "I have to get back to work, but I'll drop by again when I got the time." I told not just Carrie, but Jani too.Jani nodded and I skated to a table.
I continued my shift, my eyes going to Jani and Carrie's booth every so often. I smiled to myself.
It wasn't totally bizarre seeing Jani with Carrie.
Like a da- nope, no way. I'm getting ahead of myself. I shook my head and went back to what I was doing.Eventually my shift ended and I took off my skates, collected my tips from the tables I waited on and I grabbed my stuff, going to Carrie and Jani. "You ready to go home?" I asked Carrie. She nodded tiredly.
I then turned my attention to Jani. I'm surprised he actually stayed this long. "You want to come with us?" I questioned him with a small smile, not really appalled by the idea of the possibility of him joining us.
He tood up and stood next to me. "You're actually inviting me?" He said with a smile. I looked at him with a playful one. "What, I can't be nice?" I questioned.
"No it's not that, it's just you're not really nice to me." He said with a small nod. I opened my mouth to say something, but Jani continued before I could speak up.
He leaned down to my ear. "But whose to say that I don't like it when your mean." He whispered. I smiled and smacked his arm and stood straight up. I turned my attention to Carrie. "C'mon Care Bear." I told her as I held my hand out for her. She took it and the three of us started walking out.
I thought Jani was going to get into my car, but I found out I was wrong when he walked across the parking lot to a motorcycle. "I'll follow ya!" He hollered to me as he gave me a smile and a thumbs up.
I couldn't help when a smile spread across my face. I nodded and put Carrie in the car. After I got Carrie in her seat, I got into the drivers and got situated.
Then we were off. I eventually heard a motorcycle and I knew Jani was in fact following behind.
When we got home I parked and got out. I grabbed my stuff and went to get Carrie. I was just about to pick her up and all was good until I dropped a fucking roller skate and nearly fell on my ass.
Luckily though, Jani did in fact follow me. He picked up the skate that fell and gave it back to me. "You carry the stuff, I'll get the rug rat." He told me. "You sure?" I questioned him.
He nodded and I actually decided to listen to him. Carrie was a heavy sleeper, so getting her out of her car seat was a piece of cake.
I held my stuff in my hands while I watched Jani get her out. I was surprised he actually knew what he was doing. He shut the door and carried her. I followed behind, unlocking the door when we both reached it.
I put my stuff down on the couch and walked over to Jani, Carrie still sound asleep in his arms. I held my arms out and he gently put her in them. I then carried her to her room and put her to bed.
"At least we're not watching Snow White this time." Jani said as he sat down on the couch. I laughed at that as I walked to my room and got into my pajamas.
I took a seat on the couch next to Jani. I mean there was a decent amount of space between the two of us so don't get any ideas...I'm already getting some of my own and I honest to god want to fucking punch myself for it.
Not that today hasn't been a good day with Jani, because it has been, but because I did not want to fuck shit up.
Right now, Jani and I.....Jani and I were acquaintances.
It was silent, I didn't bother turning the tv on. Jani turned towards me. "What's with the change of heart?" Jani asked as I too turned to look at him. He stared at me like there was something wrong with me.
"Had a revelation, hating people all the time gets kind of boring and tiring, y'know?" I answered in my usual sarcastic ass way.
Because there was no way in hell I was about to tell him the whole fucking story about me talking to Erik about him like Erik was just one of my girl friends like Heather. No thank you.
"Something's up." He said. I shook my head. "Technically everything's up, we are floating in space if you didn't already know that." I responded, trying to avoid this conversation.
"Why does everything gotta be so deep and mean something with you?" Jani questioned seriously. No smirk, no smile, not even the look in his eyes he gives me all the time.
I shrugged. I honestly had no idea. It wasn't something I spent a lot of my time thinking about. "I guess it just is." I told him truthfully.
He nodded and stared at me, way more intently then he ever had since he and I met. "Why'd you invite me here?" He questioned like he genuinely wanted to know. I glanced to the space on the couch between us and then back to his eyes.
"Same reason you excepted the invitation." I told him simply. One sentence could be enough for someone to write a whole goddman novel, I swear.
No one said anything else. I did watch though as Jani's eyes moved from mine and went to somewhere else in my face. I then did the same, my eyes absentmindedly drifting to his lips.
The fight I was having with myself right now. A part of me was like, nope no way. we aren't doing that. No no noppeeeee. And the other half in all honestly was just, 'fuck it'. We all die.
But I didn't have time to think anymore when I abruptly felt Jani's lips against my own.
I could help but follow suit, it was hard not to. And I don't know if that's because it's been a while since I've kissed someone or if it was my revelation I had earlier at the diner.
I want you
I think I might want Jani Lane....
(A/N: hey! Finally got a new chapter up and I may or may not be writing a Jon Bon Jovi story for all you Bon Jovi lovers out there. Happy reading and I'll post the Bon Jovi story when I can. Appreciate you all!-Jaimie🦆🤙)
