Things were undeniably great.
Jon and I were friends and co-parenting.
Heather, Dorothea, and I were best of friends.
And apparently Jani and I aren't the only two who decided to get married in Vegas during the tour. Jon and Dorothea too got hitched.
Anyway, the tour was fucking a huge hit. Every single show was fucking sold out.
All of us were in the last state we were playing. Chicago, Illinois.
"So, are you and Jani gunna stay married?" Jon questioned as I put Grace asleep in her crib on Bon Jovi's bus. I looked at him. "I think so, yeah." He smiled at me.
"I'm happy for you." He said. I nodded. "Thanks...I happy too. Now what about you and Dorothea?" I questioned back. "Are you gunna stay married?" I continued.
He didn't hesitate. "For sure." He said with a smile. "Well, I'm happy for you too." I told him.
He smiled and thanked me.
"Where's time gone?" He questioned as we stood by Grace's crib. I shrugged. "A year ago, Jani and I met and the Cherry Pie shit went down." I stated with a sigh, somewhat over that situation.
"A year ago, the band and I went to diner and I met you." He added. I smiled a small smile at him. "A year ago, you asked me to be your girlfriend." I also added, keeping it going.
"A year ago, you told me you were pregnant." He said. I smiled and looked at Grace sound asleep. "A year ago, we adopted Carrie." I said. He smiled and nodded.
"A year ago, you met the love of your life without even knowing it." He said. I looked at him, he was talking about Jani, he had to of been. "And several years ago, you met yours." I said with a small smile.
He smiled at that, a big smile. "So are you still Lori Holloway?" He questioned. I shook my head. "You're lookin' at Lori Lane." Jon gave me a friendly smile. "I guess I should congratulate you." He said with a smile as he turned, me sound the same so we were facing each other now.
"Well I mean I gotta congratulate you too." I said. He nodded and we gave each other a friendly hug and Jon gave me a small peck on the cheek-I am the mother of his kids after all." We pulled away and walked to Carrie's bunk.
She was out. Jon looked at me and then to her seriously. "So you really don't know where your sister is, do you?" Jon questioned. I shook my head. "No, and I'm okay with that. She's been hit knows where for the past 6 years. Carrie knows I'm not her real mom. But chose to call me mom despite that. I mean I raised her." I explained.
Jon nodded. I had told him all about my sister right before we adopted Carrie. "Well, I think she got pretty damn lucky in the parent department." He said with a smile, glancing at me. I nodded and smiled. "Definitely. A loving and caring cool dad." I said.
"And a loving, caring, and equally as cool mom." Jon added. "And they got pretty lucky with their step dad." He said. I nodded. "Step mom too." I also added.
"Can't forget about their Uncle's." Jon added. "Right, all 8 of them." I laughed. The guys of Warrant and of Bon Jovi really were like Uncles to Grace and Carrie.
"Oh, and their Aunt and God mother Heather. She'd crucify me if she knew I almost forgot about her." I said. Jon laughed. "We've got a pretty crazy family, huh?" He questioned. I nodded. "Oh definitely. But I wouldn't change it for the world." I stated.
He smiled. "Ditto." I shut the curtain to Carrie's bunk slowly. "I'll see you when we get back to California." I told him. He nodded and said the same thing. I then walked to the front of the bus and to the door.
"See you later Lori Lane!" He whispered yelled. I laughed at that and went to Warrant's bus.
"Hey, how's the girls?" Jani questioned me with a smile as he saw me. "Sound asleep. Jon and I were talking. He and Dorothea are gunna stay married. I told him you and I were too." I said as I sat down next time him on the couch.
He smiled and wrapped an arm around my shoulders. "What else did you talk about?" He questioned after he laid a kiss to my cheek. I laughed. "About are crazy fucking family." I said.
He nodded. "It is pretty crazy. But I wouldn't change any of it...well except for the cherry pie shit." He said. I laughed at that. "Fucking ditto." I replied truthfully.
"I am sorry about that." He said. It turned to look at him. "I know you are. You've been saying it for nearly a year now. Besides, I'm starting to let go of it anyway." I told him.
He nodded and put one of his hands on my cheek. "I so do not deserve you." You whispered. I laughed at that. "A year ago, you would trying to convince me otherwise." I replied.
He looked at me seriously. "That's because I didn't realize how much I loved you then." He said. My humorless expression softened. "Jani.." I said all like mushy and sappy and shit.
He kissed me for a minute and then pulled away. "I am so fucking sorry for dragging you right down Cherry lane." He said truthfully. I looked at him, searching his eyes. "Hey." I said softly as I put a hand on his cheek. "What?" He asked confused.
"Who's to say I didn't like it? Yeah it confused the hell out of me, and yeah it wasn't exactly a walk in the fucking park. But- I love you, even if I didn't realize it right away. So thank you. Y'know, for dragging me right down Cherry lane." I explained with a smile.
He then kissed my lips softly and then pulled away a little bit and looked at me. "God, I love you Lori Holloway." He said, looking into my eyes. I shook my head. "Actually, it's Lori Lane." I told him.
"What?" He questioned, his eyes wide. I chuckled. "I said my names Lori La-" He cut me off with a kiss. He eventually pulled away. "You changed your last name?" He questioned. I nodded.
"We are married, Jani." I told him. He smiled a big grin. "I didn't think you'd take my last name." He said. "Jani, I love you, even though we've been through shit. I love you. We're married, even though how it happened wasn't exactly conventional. You're my husband. I'm tied to you. So of course I'd change my fucking name." I explained.
He smiled and put his hand back on my cheek again, rubbing it with his thumb. "God, I love you Lori Lane." He said, admiration and love in his eyes.
He kissed me again and then pulled away and I looked at him. "God, I love you too Jani Lane.
