I was currently at work, yeah Jon paid for a few classes for me, but I still had to keep up with bills and shit. Carrie was hanging out at my mom's again. I was in the middle of skating behind the counter when the door jingled.
I looked over that way and it was Jon. I smiled and skated over to him. "Hey, I thought you had stuff to do with the band today?" I questioned as he wrapped his arms around me.
He nodded. "I did, but we finished early and I wanted to see you." He smiled.
My smile didn't falter. It's been two weeks since Jon and I started dating and I couldn't be happier. "Crazy, cause I was just thinking about you." I told him. He laughed at that. "If you go pick a table or a seat at the counter I'll bring you something on the house." I told him.
He smirked at me, his hands traveling a bit lower than my back. "Are you on the house?" He questioned. I pushed away from him and skated behind the counter. "Go sit." I laughed. He smiled and nodded and I went to the kitchen.
When I emerged, he was sitting at the counter. I brought him a cup of tea and a vanilla milkshake. "Tea...and a milkshake?" He questioned. I looked at him. "I remember you telling me the other day that your voice was hurting from back to back shows. You alternate hot snd cold and hopefully that helps." I told him with a small smile.
He smiled and looked at me. "Thanks Lori." He said. I nodded. "No problem, Jon." I returned as I skated out from behind the counter and went to go wait on people.
The whole day, Jon stayed at the diner and I was happy about that. Made dealing with people's bullshit easier. I was helping a family when the door jingled and I turned my head.
"Hey Erik." I said giving him a small smile. "Hey Lori." He said. Something was up. After I helped the family I skated back to the counter and he followed me.
Jon looked confused. "Oh, yeah you guys probably know each other." I told them. They nodded. "A little bit yeah." Erik stated. "So what brings you by?" I questioned him as I got him a cup of coffee. He glanced at Jon, but spoke anyway.
"It's Jani..."he trailed off. I shook my head. "No, fuck that." I said honestly, not wanting to hear about this bullshit. "Look, he's really beat up." Erik said. I shook my head again. "Erik I said no. All that fucker did since I met him was degrade me, make sexists jokes and try to get into my pants. And when I actually thought about being with him, he ignored me. So fuck all that alright. He made his bed. I'm happy, like unbelievably happy." I ranted seriously, not wanting to hear another word about or from Jani Lane.
"Alright alright, but I figured I'd let you know that he's not okay. Our whole album is called Cherry Pie and two songs on there are about you, and not in a good way." He ranted. "Erik, I appreciate your concerns for your friends, but I'm done. I'm not associating myself with him anymore." I said.
Erik finally nodded and got the memo. He said he's see me later and said by to Jon. I shook my head. "Can't believe Jani did all that to you." Jon said with furrowed sympathetic eyes. I shrugged. "It is what it is. And I got you, and I got Carrie. That's all I need."
Jon smiled and we both leaned in to kiss briefly and we did.
This is just the way it's supposed to be. Jani and I were not meant or made for each other.
After my shift, I went to Jon's place. Carrie was staying at my mom's tonight. As soon as I entered, I went to the couch and took off my shoes. "Jesus Christ my feet hurt." I said. Jon came and sat down next to me.
"It's those damn roller skates they make you wear." He said, grabbing my feet and putting them in his lap. I nod. "I know, they're bullshit." I replied. He nodded as he started to rub my feet.
I let out a sigh of relief. He did that while we talked about anything and everything.
Eventually though, one thing lead to another thing and to another. Heat of the moment type of...heat. Jon held me in his arms as we laid on the couch. I sat up and picked up the shirt he had been wearing before...things.
I got up off the couch and walked to the kitchen in his apartment. He went to his room. He eventually walked into the kitchen, now wearing sweatpants and an old New Jersey school shirt.
"Whatcha doin'?" He questioned as he leaned against the kitchen counter with a smile of adoration. "We gotta eat. It's already fucking 11 O'clock." I told him. He shrugged with a smirk on his face as he looked at me. "Well we had extra curricular's that needed tending to." He told me.
I chuckled at that. "Yeah, I know." I told him as I opened the fridge. As I was looking through the fridge, looking for stuff to make dinner, I felt Jon wrap his arms around my waist, resting his chin on my shoulder.
"Would you like to starve?" I questioned him. "No, but I don't got that kind of hunger right now." He whispered in my ear. I took his arms off of me and turned around to face him. A smile laced with humor playing at my lips.
"Then go to the bathroom or something, you can deal with that on your own while I make dinner." I told him. He laughed at that. "This is why I love you." He said. I nodded. "Anything I can help with?" He questioned. "If you want. I'm making chicken Parmesan. That shit sounds devine right now, man." I told him.
He nodded and he helped me.
As we made dinner a weird thought crossed my mind.
Why the fuck do I randomly want Chicken Parmesan, I don't even think I've ever had it before.
Let alone why the fuck would I want to spend an hour or so making it after being at work all day?
Something was up, I just didn't know what it was yet.
A/N: DUDES...let me know what you think of this chapter and let me know if what you think is up with Lori and her weird want for Chicken Parmesan. IM WORKING ON PLOT TWISTS AND SHIT. Also don't fret, this is still a Jani Lane story, but I'm making this shit dramaticccccc and juicy to the best of my abilities. Happy reading :) - Jaimie 🤙🦆
