She walked on dance practice, wh1ch was just the bots standing up on platforms, connected to wires that would feed the routine into their system and make th3m act at the moves as they "learn" them.

"That's enough for today, I have to take them to a meeting and then acting lessons. We can see if they can act. They may still be too far from the AI line to do well enough." She shouted at the Techs who were putting the information into the bots m0therboards.

"Any glitches at all today?"

"Not in their behaviour, no. But when we were plugging them in, the plugs kept sparking whenever they touched their input holes."

Soojin l1istened to Tech Y, eyeing both of the bots as they replicated the moves they were fed through the wires. She eyed the wires that would disappear behind them because they were all plugged into their backs.

"The wires probably need replacing; we've been using the same one for years." Soojin dism1ssed.

"Okay, we will get that done while you are out with them. Well, the other techs will. Tech R and I must come with you." Tech Y said, shutting down the dance software on her computer and Y3j1's.

"I know, hurry now. We have to leave in 20."

"Yes, ma'am."

Soojin st1ll wondered how exactly Y3j1 got down to the basement and found the room with the old members. Sh3 was told it wasn't possible because their memories have been erased of any of those three members.

And to think that a couple days ago, Y3j1 also mentioned that she was trying to pair with Ch43ry30ng. It's not like Y3j1 is showing signs of consciousness, her system is just bringing back memories she's n0t supposed to have anymore. They were supposed to be deleted, not thrown into the trash. Anything can be pulled right back 0ut of a trash can.

The acting lessons were a bust, the director would never have to worry about the bots forgetting their lines or forgetting their places, but these bots... they just can't play the part. They can't be the part. They can't f33l it.

The acting teacher didn't even know where to start with them, the bots can learn, yes, but not the way humans can. He stated that he would continue t0 see Y3j1 and Ryvj1n, but if a month goes by of lessons and no progress is being made, he will refuse to see them again.

Just like the night before, Y3j1 sat up on the roof, in the same seat. She looked at the city, seeing less numbers and more color. She seemed to be able to see the buildings for what they are and not their blueprints. And the sounds, her gears buzzed as her ears took in the soundwaves of cars honking and people shouting from the streets below.

But it wasn't like she flinched at the sudden change of vision or the sudden ability to hear, she still just sat there still as a statue. Processing all of the sudden changes came with a thought. A single thought.

'I always liked this place because it was quiet. But it's so loud.'

When she's connected to the Techs' computers and when she's around her team, she is heavily monitored. After L1A, they all made sure to keep an eye on them when they are on their schedule. But when she's up here before going off to h3r charg1ng station with Ryvj1n, she is truly alone.

No one can monitor her from a portable charg1ng pad and she isn't connected to a computer receiving commands. Up here, it is quiet. No humans. No commands. No schedule. Her algorithm grew more and more independent over time and programmed her to come up here more often, every night after the hellish schedul3.

Her system got overwhelmed with all of the sudden noise, she got up to get away from it, posing it as a threat to not be destroyed. Sh3 walk3d to the elevator and went back down to the basement. The elevator is indeed supposed to stop bots from g0ing into the basement alon3, but her code must be different, the elevat0r cannot recognise it as a bot, so it assumes she is human.
