In the beginning of having robotic idols, fans didn't understand the need for dating scandals. They can't love, why put them into couples? The reason being they look good together and those fans will still watch and stream their duets won't they? It just makes everything more real and it keeps the industry more interesting.

But the first industry couple in many years was with A3spa's K4r1na. But her company had done her image so wrong, aiming her fan service mainly towards women because they wanted the group to have a pretty equal amount of fangirls and fanboys. K4r1na and another member W1nt3r, were supposed to be the girl crushes of the group, but K4r1na was slightly more popular.

It led people to believe she was the first lesbian idol since the industry began making bots. She became the most popular member of her group because of her "attraction" towards women. And then her company put her in a dating scandal with another bot, who is a very talented soloist.

And a male bot.

The uproar this caused was 99% negative. Sapphic fans felt like the company didn't make K4r1na fanservice for inclusivity, but for money and clout. They hated the company for making a bot urgently hint at being in a scandal with another female bot and then put her with a male bot.

The company responded to the hate by saying that real romance and fanservice are not the same thing and that fans shouldn't be speculating about an idol's life so closely by assuming their sexuality. They proceeded to say that in terms of "real love" K4r1na would only be attracted to men. Her role in the group is to attract a large sum of their female fan base and though the company is not against other companies wanting to give other idols LGBT relationships, they will not ever do it for their idols as it does not set the right message or image for their brand.

(A/n: I do not see Karina's actual dating scandal like this, I just used the situation and changed it a bit. I do not think Karina dating a man is controversial and no woman who has never even stated her sexuality should ever have to apologize for dating another person.)

Since that scandal, no other big company dared give their bots dating scandals. Not until Soojin. And not until today.

"Thank you for meeting with me, Daepyo-nim." Soojin kindly bowed to the CEO of Ka1's company, her own bot right behind her, bowing as well.

"Of course, please sit." The man smiled, gesturing for everyone to sit in the big meeting room.

The two bots were guided to sit next to one another and the humans sat across from one another on either ends of the table.

"So, you did read over the relationship contract for Kai and Ryujin?" The ceo questioned, getting out his original copy of the contract he sent Soojin and her boss. "I'm a bit shocked that your boss approved the idea of a dating scandal."

"I did read over it. And he was quite skeptical, but with only two members of her group left, I have to keep things new and think outside the box a bit."

"Right, I do think before we officially put them together and released it to the public, we should test the waters and hint the relationship first as a rumor. Ryujin is one of the girl crush members of her old group. She and her partner are still seen as girl crush idols, and after Karina, I want to ensure that this relationship will be viewed positively rather than the ladder."

"Makes sense. This is mainly to shut down the allegations my two bots are facing at the moment. The LGBT allegations... my boss only accepted this dating scandal because he wanted those allegations to be shut down."

"Makes sense, this country is too conservative to have such big idols out of LGBTQ."

Soojin smiled, looking over at Ryujin and Ka1. She thinks they look good together, it perfectly suits her vision. Their stages will look great, they will probably MC together as well.
