There really was no such thing as idols getting exposed for poor/real skin by Getty Images anymore. Every single idol had perfect skin now, it wasn't even skin. It was really only the actors and actresses that were left to "be exposed."
But red carpenters were always interesting at these award shows. Korea had never gotten out of their phase of only putting their idols in mostly black attire for red carpets, but some managers have fought for the individuality.
Soojin was considered one of those managers, in the past, she has pushed her stylists to dress the duo in whatever colors match the duo's performance for that night.
Tonight, at the Melon Music Awards, the duo was nominated several times and expected to win many awards. Their performance would be based around their song Mr. Vampire, so the concept was dark and very romantic.
The looks they had for the red carpet hinted their concept very well. Ryujin being styled into a sexy, off-the-shoulder, black maxi dress. It had long sleeves and a slit along the right leg. And Yeji was styled in a red one. A similar style, only hers was short sleeved and ruffles decorated the off-the-shoulder neckline.
They would need full charges for award shows because it takes up all their attention and energy. The Techs usually hate them because of how stressful they are. The Techs can't be close to the red carpet for obvious reasons, so they have to monitor the bots from staff rooms in the building, and they just have to hope everything runs smoothly.
It was the duo's first time being at an award show conscious and the experience was certainly different. They didn't realize who rude the photographers were and how bright the frequent flashes were. They listened to the rude photographers, knowing that unconscious robots will not care about how they are talked to.
But the flashed almost gave Ryujin away. Yeji was able to control herself, but Ryujin must have more sensitive eyes. She had to look down and shield her eyes to let them refocus before looking back up and posing as queued to. She knew that people would question it, especially staff. She shouldn't have to shield her eyes from the flashes.
Once the carpet was done, Yeji wanted to ask Ryujin if she was okay. But she assumed the Techs would be able to monitor what she says, so she asked Ryujin with her eyes alone, to which Ryujin nodded minimally and followed all of the other idols to the arena for awards and performances.
