Shadow's POV
My hands grip tightly on the handlers of my motorcycle thinking about if l have caught sonic more later he could have died of whatever was in there below the cliff, all the possible scenarios are like a tornado in my head.

l let out a huff of annoyance as l increase the pace of speed of my bike as l lean my body forward slightly. The roaring sound of the engine of my motorcycle was all l could hear at the moment and the buildings and shops l drove by were all a blur at the corner of my eyes.

I parked my motorcycle at the parking lot outside the building of G.U.N where l worked, l took off my helmet and made my way in the building getting greeted by the other agents walking by as l made my way to my office to finish my paperwork and a few unfinished task at hand that l left due to the situation earlier.

I wasn't badly injured like the others who were present at the fight since l have arrived late with rouge and caught sonic in time because of that other me who pretty much sucks at his job of protecting his 'king'

I step inside my office placing down my helmet on the coffee table and took off my leather jacket to feel the cold air then sat down on my office chair leaning back for a moment

"Damn it, that darn hedgehog seriously needs to stay out of trouble and involving me into his own mess" l muttered to myself feeling irritated by Sonic's recklessness and cocky personality, he is impatient and unreliable, he's like a magnet of chaos

I turned my chair to face my desk and sat properly, as l was about to do my paperwork the door open revealing rouge walking in with papers in her hand, l sigh in annoyance knowing what this will be

"Hun, the commander assigned you to a few days mission, the location is on the next city not far from ours but it will be a long drive, the details and info about your mission are all in here" the bat handed me a file that contains everything l need to know about the mission

"So l assume he wants me to go now?
I reached out for the file and began scanning and reading about the mission and just like l expected like any other mission l take part on, it's something that only l can handle

"Technically yes" the bat answered "this is annoying. I'll start packing, prepare the necessary equipment for me to bring"

Author's POV
The ebony left his office to pack his essentials from his home to begin his journey for his mission that will soon unfold before him, however he couldn't get rid of his thoughts to check on the azure hedgehog who was resting and recovering at the hospital after the recent fight between the crew and eggman. The ebony grab his duffle bag full of the things he needed for his mission, he put on his black leather jacket and his usual shoes and drove back to G.U.N to get the equipment he asked from the bat.

The ebony drove fast on the road, his grip on the handlers of his motorcycle firm and tight as he got closer to the parking lot, he stopped his motorcycle after seeing rouge approaching him with a bag

"Don't call me for whatever reason there is to disturb me from doing my mission" the ebony spoke as he grab the bag then hang it on his handler of his motorcycle

"Not even if the reason is about blue?" Rouge asked referring to the azure hedgehog while crossing her arms and raised a brow at the ebony.

Rouge basically knows about the ebony's feelings towards sonic, shadow was just too blind and hate to admit it. Shadow's eyes widen slightly from the question before giving her a death glare as a warning

"Watch your mouth bat, keep him out of trouble or l'll be the reason why he'll be sent back to the bed"
The ebony warned, he drove his motorcycle out from the parking lot before driving towards his location disappearing from rouge's sight

Sonic's POV
"What? You mean, shads is on a mission right now? For how long?" I asked in surprise because of the sudden news from rouge

"Five or six days, he's on his way to the next city with a few agents that were assigned from other companies to take part or to assist" rouge answered as she sat down on the chair right next to the bed

"But why so sudden?"

"We agents don't leaked our own missions to each other blue, we have rules to follow. We don't play around and share our tea"

I frowned at her answer but l understood that shadow has important business to do. I took a glance outside the window taking a sight of the ground and a few people passing by on the streets l was taking my time then slowly realizing why is rouge telling me all this?

I turned my head to look at her and decided to ask the question before l go insane overthinking everything on this damn hospital bed again when l was supposed to get some rest and focus on recovering

"Wait, why are you telling me all of this?" I asked, confusion showing on my face

"I have my own reasons on who to tell or what to tell but since you're an exception l can give you a hint. Blindly in denial" she said, l noticed the smirk on her face and immediately knew she knows something that l don't

'blindly in denial?' l thought to myself, why she referring to shadow or me? Was l in denial? Or is she just messing with me?

Before l could question further she stood up and wave her hand indicating she was leaving, l sigh and nodded my head as l waved back.

I laid back down on my bed thinking about what's been happening lately, it was all going too fast to even know where to start processing, shadow going on a mission for a few days, rouge's statement, and king Arthur. My head is a mess at this point
