The azure hedgehog bought two chili dogs and handed one to the knight who was waiting patiently for his arrival, the knight accepted the offer and scan the chili dog he is now holding. He felt skeptical about eating such a food that he hasn't seen or taste from the world he lived in, he glance at the azure hedgehog trying to confirm if it was edible and not poisoned but to his surprise the hero had already eaten his and had a face of satisfaction. He was given one from the so called party by the blue hero but didn't try it since he was not sure if it was safe for him and the azure hedgehog must have forgotten upon seeing his oblivious actions

The knight turn his gaze back to the chili dog, tilting his head at the bizarre shape and color of the food taking notice that it was slightly different from the ones he saw at the party. He lean down and sniff the aroma and it was indeed different, he then lean back and gave it a try.

The blue hero watched as the knight took his first bite of the chili dog waiting for his reaction, a slight surprise expression was shown on the knight's face while he chewed the piece in his mouth, it was spicy and delicious he had never tasted anything like this before

"This is... absolutely incredible, what special ingredients does these called chili dogs are put together of? It is quite...delicious" the knight stated, his focus was on the chili dog he is holding

The blue blur watched the knight's reaction in amusement seeing how he liked it, a wave of longing for the ebony washed over him just by looking at the knight. Lancelot is a bit different from the shadow he knows in this world but he is happy to get to know the other alternative version of the ebony, sonic placed a hand on his hip and proudly smiled

"You got that right, lance. Chili dogs are like my energy boost, hey, won't king Arthur love to try one of these too?"

"The king?..considering from the fact he is a replica of you, l must say he would be thrilled to taste such extraordinary food, l shall bring a few for his highness. If you don't mind me asking sire, these ones look slightly different from the ones l saw at the party"

"Oh right! I completely forgot about that! Didn't l give you one of the chili dogs at the party?" The blue hero asked in curiosity

"Yes sire, however l did not attempted on eating it" the knight answered while continuing to eat the chili dog in his hand, clearly enjoying the piece of heaven

"What??! Whyyyyy?" The blue hero whined in confusion

"The item is hardly like any dishes l had in my world and l view it as a suspicious kind"

'well, you're absolutely devouring this one then' the azure hedgehog thought to himself in amusement just by watching the knight finished his chili dog is kind of silly and an adorable scene to behold

The two hedgehogs continued their exploration tour in the city until the sun has slowly set down from the sky creating a golden orange sunset hue and finally decided to head back home. They made a stop at tails's workshop before anything else since it was the closest path from their own home, once they entered their eyes landed on the white hedgehog sitting on the couch with a mug of hot chocolate and a warm blanket over his shoulder, tails and Amy were besides him comforting him

"Silver?" Sonic spoke up catching their attention as he approaches the three with the knight following behind him closely

"Sonic! I really need your help! Mephiles joined hands with eggman" the white hedgehog shouted in a panic, getting up from the couch while still holding to the mug in his hands

The azure hedgehog raised a brow in confusion, mephiles? Joined hands with eggman? That doesn't make any sense, he made the white hedgehog sat back down on the couch so he can explained calmly

"What do you mean? I thought you locked him in a facility at castaway island where no one can find him, What's going on silver?" Sonic spoke calmly to not pressure the other hedgehog after seeing his state

"I-l don't know how he escaped but..."

(A few days ago)

Silver's POV
I was sitting on the chair and watching the CCTV cameras recording live in different hallways and a few rooms, camera 1 had its attention on the main hall, camera 2 at the kitchen, camera 3 in mephiles room, camera 4 had the view of the elevator, camera 5 at the entrance of the building and so on. Mephiles was apart of our group long ago, sonic, me, shadow and him. We all get along with each other like a family but not until what happened a few years ago

Few years ago, mephiles went rabid and started destroying buildings after buildings and manipulated innocent people to bribe them by telling them that the living can reunite to their dead loved ones as long as they follow what he say. We weren't really sure what was the caused of it but we also knew we couldn't just watched and let the citizens suffer in his hands, in a few days we made a difficult decision. to capture him and lock him in a secluded area where people are out of his reach.

While l was keeping an eye on the black hedgehog through the screen, my ear twitched upon hearing the door opened behind me, l turn my chair around and smiled happily seeing the familiar purple cat entering

"Silver, how's mephiles?" Blaze asked bluntly, she smiled in return before approaching to stand besides me then glancing at the screens

"Quiet as always but he seems to be in a better mood now, l gave him the food we used to eat together and he actually ate it for the first time in awhile" l responded, it was heartwarming to see mephiles eating the food we both love a few years ago. Usually he would ask for something else

"That's good news, how about calling sonic and the others to update them about his current condition" blaze suggested her eyes fixated on the screens

"Good idea!" I cheerfully agreed, it's been awhile since l have talked with sonic and shadow, this was a good opportunity to catch up about what was going on with their lives without me around. I nod my head at blaze as she exited the security room, l immediately grabbed my phone and started dialling Sonic's number and that's where it all started.

Before l could press call, something at the corner of my eyes caught my attention and turn my head to the direction of the screens, one of the cameras began to lose focus on the sight and it continued one by one, camera 1 error, camera 3 error then finally camera 4. I stared in horror feeling my stomach dropped, l got up from my seat and ran out of the security room

"Blaze!! Something is wrong!" I shouted in panic

Without waiting for any response from blaze l ran to her room taking notice she wasn't present, before anything else l heard a glass shattered down on the ground in the kitchen area and ran towards the source. And there l saw it, scourge helping mephiles escape from the facility through the only window

The rest is history...

The azure hedgehog's eyes widen in pure shock listening to the other hedgehog's explanation about the recent events he had experienced, he couldn't believe scourge was apart of it, sonic clenched his fist in irritation knowing mephiles will feel invincible if those two jerks are on his side and it was definitely not safe for the black hedgehog to be hanging out with them because of their bad reputation
