Ragged Clifftops trail the path home to our little remote establishment where the four of us stay. Just me, (Jolie) my sister Angie and our parents.

We live in a fairly secluded town, one where our only real safety concerns came from the Cliff lining stretching the island. Our home has such loud beauties and some very silent dangers.

Our town abides aside a long road stretching hours in the same direction, junkies and alcoholics just call us a pit stop, occasionally you'll wake up at midnight to a bonfire and drunk laughter deep in the forest near our home.

Angie was a diligent student who needed to be working every second she had at the little study hall. So she would usually come home a lot later than I would. So when it was dark out, the walk home was isolated and lonely.

Angie was worried about me, but my parents had convinced themselves the chance of anything happening to me was close enough to zero. Eventually, dad put up an unfinished picket fence between the cliff and my usual path, just trying to silence Angie's bickering.

I mean, I guess I was a little scared, but I had never gotten it in my head that death was always just over the fence.
