I wasn't too concerned about who I was going to spend lunch with. In fact, I planned on taking a nap in my car. But Eric Yorkie and Angela Webber had different plans for me.
"Jessica told me that you have some issues with each other. But I still wanted to invite you to eat lunch with us." Angela offered.
"Yeah, Jessica was having a bad morning today so she was a little more of a bitch than usual," Eric explained.
"Jessica is not a bitch." Angela mumbled, but she didn't say more to stick up for her friend. Probably because she truly knew that Jessica was a bitch.
Even though I didn't plan on it, spending lunch with other people didn't seem like such a bad idea. Plus, I didn't want to say no to Angela. "I can be civil as long as Jessica doesn't try anything."
"I'll make sure you guys aren't sitting next to each other," Eric promised with a goofy smile. Despite my better judgment, I believed him.
And I shouldn't have.
I ended up sitting right next to Jessica.
"So..." Jessica said awkwardly. The whole table group was silent, waiting to see how Jessica and I interacted with each other.
"So?" I mumbled as I dipped my carrot in a gloop of a blue cheese and ranch mixture or whatever the hell this white sauce was. Honestly, the school food didn't look very promising.
"I'm sorry about what happened this morning. I was overreacting." Jessica apologized.
"You were." I agreed.
Jessica cleared her throat. "Aren't you going to apologize?"
There was no way in Hell I was going to apologize. I didn't do anything wrong. "Do you want a busted lip?"
"Jeez," Jessica muttered. We fell into an awkward silence again. I had no problem with it but clearly it was bugging Jessica."So... How do you know Bella?"
It's none of your damn business. "I don't."
"Well, she seems to know you." Jessica pointed out.
"I've talked to her once or twice," I said.
Jessica didn't seem to believe me but she moved on. "Then I'm sure you've met her little boyfriend?"
"Edward? Yeah, I met him and his sister." Honestly, I didn't remember much about Edward or his sister. Hell, I barely remembered their names.
"Which one?" Angela asked.
I didn't get a chance to tell her that I didn't know before Mike let out a dramatic sigh. "I just find it weird how fast she's moved on from us to the Cullens."
"You're just butthurt because you never got the chance to ask her out." Eric snorted. Mike flipped him off as a response.
"Bella used to hang out with us before she ditched us for the Cullens," Jessica explained to me. "But can you really blame her?"
"Yes, we can," Mike mumbled.
Jessica randomly started hitting my arm in excitement. "They're coming. Pay attention, Aspen."
"To what?" I asked. Jessica moved my head in the direction of a door. I was annoyed because I didn't see anything worth looking at.
"She's already met like three of the Cullens." Mike pointed out with annoyance.
"But she doesn't know all the details," Jessica said. "I'm pretty sure they didn't bother telling her."
Dramatically the door swung open, revealing the topics of conversation. Emmett Cullen and a blonde girl walked through the door holding hands. I assumed that was the girlfriend that Jessica had mentioned earlier.
