Fourteen

You entered the hospital with a fresh bouquet of flowers. "Hello Y/n, it's been a while." The nurse said at the front desk.

"Just been caught up in some things," I commented returning her smile. "Is everything alright?" She asked in concern.

"No yeah everything's fine, just came by to see Pops," I said and walked down the hall to the elevator.

I pressed the 3 and picked up the ringing phone in my pocket. "Leave my family out of this and I'll tell you everything you want to know." He said in a shaky voice.

"I'll text you a location. Come alone." I said hanging up the phone and exiting the elevator. I walked to grandfather's room glancing down the hall feeling an uneasiness.

You entered the room closing the door behind you. You glanced at his sleeping figure and went to replace the old flowers in the vase.

"Next time I see you, I should have an understanding of everything you couldn't tell me about. I wish you would've given me a heads up though," You laughed as a tear rolled down your cheek.

You held his hand and stared at the monitor that showed his heartbeats. You glanced at the time and sent a location to Yoichi.

"I'll see you again soon." You said tucking his blanket comfortably. You placed a kiss on his head, remembering the times when he took care of you when you were sick.

You glanced at him once more before turning the light off and exiting the room.

You arrived at the park and sat on the bench where Yoichi was seated.

Sweat ran along the side of his face meanwhile you glared at him through your black sunglasses.

You don't spare him a glance as he shifts in the seat beside you. He placed his hands on his knees and leaned forward nervously.

"I had no intention of working with them, but these guys are the real deal. When you threatened my family I know you didn't have any true intentions to harm them without reason." I glanced at him.

"However these people, I-I don't know how I got tied in with them-"

"What did you do?" I said glancing at him. "I originally sold them weapons as they were making bullets. Some that alter with your quirk." My eyes widened.

"As in Erase or Enhance. Here take this." He checked his surroundings before placing a drive on the bench. "I was going to turn it into the police or even the heroes."

"Why didn't you?" I asked tucking it into my pocket. "Because they are everywhere. Watching my every movement. You may not see them but you can feel them."

"Do what you must with that information, but I know it's safer in your hands than mine." He said referring to the drive. "You wanted information on your grandfather's accident correct?" My eyes snapped to him.

"How did you-"

"We don't have much time. Ask your questions quickly. If I'm gone too long they'll get suspicious." He said rubbing his legs anxiously.

"Who was behind the car accident on August 3rd of one year ago? It's at the intersection right down there." You explained.

"The police say it was a hit and run but I know otherwise. You wouldn't happen to know anything about that now would you?" The pressure of your aura alone was enough to make him suffocate over his words.

"The hit and run..." He trailed off.

"Believe it or not but it was one of the very few car accidents that has occurred on this very intersection. But what I want to know is why the cameras were disabled that day."

"That was the day they got the kid." I furrowed my eyes in confusion. "Your family was associated with a lot of the wrong people and considering your grandfather was trying to bring them down didn't help."

"I'm not completely sure of the accident but I can assure you it was no accident. He had a lot of powerful people after him Y/n. Now you being the remaining family member, I wouldn't be surprised if they came after you."

He looked at his watch and jumped to his feet, and I instinctively did the same.

"I have to leave but just know I truly want to leave this life behind and be a good father and husband but I can't with them in the way."

"Look at the drive but don't do anything different from your normal schedule. They will either look for you to see if you are a threat considering you bombed my office or find out i'm helping you. Get as much information as possible before you turn that in." He turned and walked away leaving me standing there dumbfounded.
