𝐌𝐀𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝐓𝐇, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 𝐋𝐎𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒, 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐀
Judea Watkins and Amahira Wilson developed a close friendship while playing together at Sierra Canyon School. Their bond was built on mutual respect and a shared passion for basketball. Both players pushed each other to be better, both on and off the court. Their chemistry and teamwork were evident in their games, leading Sierra Canyon to numerous victories and earning them national recognition. They also had the honor of playing on the USA Basketball team and being selected for the McDonald's All American team, further solidifying their status as top players in the nation. Their friendship extending beyond basketball, as they supported each other through the highs and lows of high school life.
It was a warm summer evening in California, school just ended for the two juniors. Amahira and Juju were back at Juju's house. The room was cozy, filled with trophies and medals from their basketball achievements. They were sitting on Juju's bed, which was covered with a soft, light grey comforter. The glow from the TV illuminated their faces as they watched a movie, a classic they both loved. The air was filled with the faint scent of popcorn they had just finished.
Juju pauses the movie and turns to Amahira with a serious look. "Amahira, I've been thinking a lot lately."
Amahira sensing the seriousness, she sits up and gives Juju her full attention "What's on your mind, Ju?"
Juju takes a deep breath. "We've been through so much together, from our days at Sierra Canyon to playing on the USA team and being McDonald's All Americans. We've built something special, and I don't want that to end after high school."
Amahira nods, understanding where Juju is coming from.
"I feel the same way. We've got a bond that's hard to find. What are you thinking?"
Juju looks Amahira in the eyes, determination clear in her voice. "I think we should play together at USC. We've got the chemistry, the skills, and the drive. We can make a real difference there, and continue to grow as players and as friends." Amahira smiles, feeling a sense of excitement and reliefs.
"I've been thinking about that too. USC has everything we need to succeed. Let's promise each other right here, right now, that we'll go to USC together."
Juju extends her pinky finger, her eyes filled with hope and determination* "It's a promise, Amahira."
Amahira interlinks her pinky with Juju's, and they both kiss their hands to seal the pact.
"USC, here we come."
