Two days had passed since Amahira retreated into her room, grappling with a jumble of emotions she wasn't ready to face. Despite her roommates Sylas and Maya offering food and company, Amahira chose solitude. Uncertainty and regret about her feelings for Juju weighed heavily on her, urging her to reach out.

With a mix of nerves and determination, Amahira called Juju. Each ring heightened her anxiety until Juju answered.

"Hey, Amahira," Juju greeted, concern in her voice.

"Hi, Juju," Amahira replied, trying to sound calm. "Could we... talk? Can I come over?"

There was a pause before Juju softly agreed. "Yeah, of course."

Amahira nodded, a mix of relief and nervousness washing over her. She threw on a hoodie, not bothering to tidy up, and headed to Juju's apartment, her mind racing with thoughts of what to say.

Arriving, she hesitated before knocking. Juju opened the door, her bright eyes tinged with concern, dressed casually.

"Hey," Juju greeted softly, stepping aside.

Amahira managed a smile, stepping inside. The familiar comfort eased some tension. They settled in the living room, the air thick with unspoken words.

"So... what's been going on, Amahira?" Juju asked gently, eyes focused on her.

Amahira took a deep breath, hands fidgeting. "I've been stressed. About the upcoming season, school... everything. I didn't know how to handle it, so I shut down."

Juju listened quietly, nodding in understanding. "It's okay. You could have talked to me, though."

Amahira glanced down, wrestling with her emotions. She wanted to tell Juju everything—her hidden feelings, the longing in her heart. But fear held her back, afraid of losing their friendship.

Juju's voice brought her back. "Mari, whatever you're going through... you don't have to face it alone."

Looking up, Amahira met Juju's gaze. In that moment, she saw genuine concern and something more.

"I know," Amahira murmured, touched. "Thank you, Ju."

As the evening unfolded, casting a gentle glow through the room, Amahira and Juju found themselves nestled comfortably on the plush couch, the flickering light of the TV painting their faces in soft hues. Amahira shifted slightly closer, drawn to Juju's warmth and the reassuring strength of her presence. Juju, sensing her movement, instinctively wrapped an arm around Amahira, their fingers intertwining effortlessly like pieces of a puzzle finally fitting together.

They exchanged soft whispers, the sound of their voices mingling with the movie soundtrack in the background. Amahira, usually reserved, felt an unexpected ease in sharing her thoughts and dreams with Juju, as if a weight had been lifted from her shoulders. Juju listened with a gentle intensity, her touch both tender and secure against Amahira's back, creating a comforting cocoon around them.

As the credits rolled and the movie concluded, Amahira turned to meet Juju's gaze, finding in it a silent but profound understanding. A tender smile played on Juju's lips as she leaned closer, placing a delicate kiss on Amahira's forehead. In that simple gesture, Amahira felt a rush of emotion—gratitude for this moment of solace and hope for what lay ahead.

With her eyes closed, Amahira savored the warmth of Juju's embrace, feeling a deep sense of belonging that washed over her like a soothing wave. They lingered together, wrapped in each other's arms, the air around them filled with unspoken promises and newfound possibilities. For Amahira, it was more than just a night on the couch watching a movie; it was a beginning, an acknowledgment of something precious blooming between them.

As they held each other close, Amahira's heart swelled with readiness for whatever the future might bring, knowing that as long as she had Juju by her side, she was ready to embrace it all.
