Part 3

Danielle's POV

I wake up to my alarm, I turn it off quickly before I get up and get ready for today, I actually slept last night so I finally have some energy.

I walk towards class, I have lectures today which Mia doesn't attend so I'm alone, everyone else is weird though, they are showing each others their phone, people aren't usually this crazy here.

This continues while I walk over to the cafeteria, I sit down next to Mia and Ivy as always, they look at me weirdly.

"What is it? Is everything okay?" I ask, what's happening today?

"You haven't heard?" Mia asks I look at her even more confused "Heard what?" I have no idea what they are talking about.

Mia gives me her phone, news pop up immediately, my eyes widen at what I see.

Articles over Valentina all over my phone such like 'Valentina Powers takes over Powers firm completely after her father's death' or 'Valentina Powers becomes billionaire over nigh', I scroll through everything.

I didn't even know her father died, and what does it mean taking over? Her mother is still alive, why did she take over then.

"I mean I have to say having a girlfriend who is a billionaire definitely has a nice ring to it" Mia says, Ivy rolls her eyes.

"It's not that big of a deal" Ivy shrugs, yeah sure it's not that big of a deal that my girlfriend just lost her father and took over the biggest law firm in existence, probably half these Harvard students want to work there once they are done, that's why they are talking about this probably.

Wait this all just happened to Valentina and it's not even that I didn't even know about it it's that I'm not even there for her, I stand up quickly, "I have to go" I say before I run out of the cafeteria.

I go to the dean's office because I need to talk to her about something, she approves thank god.

After I'm done with that I call Ben up he answers immediately "Wow crazy right?" he says.

"Have you seen her? How is she holding up?" I asks as I start packing into my suitcase.

"What are you doing Dani?" Ben asks me, I hold my phone up showing him the suitcase.

"I'm going home" I say smiling.

He widens his eyes "Wait really? But how can you and for how long?" he asks me.

"The dean approved me going away for a month, you know me not going home for Christmas came handy right now, I did it to have an upper hand in the first place, I have my course works finished, my credits are okay and my attendance checks out too, also I don't have any exams in the next month because I already written them" I say, let's just say me working hard finally paid off.

"So the dean approved me going away for a month so when I come back it's like I never left" I say before I zip my suitcase up.

"Except for the fact that I did leave" I say before flopping down on my bed "I won't let Valentina go through all this alone, I have to be there for her" I say, Ben nods.

"Yeah you kind of do" he laughs "I'm so happy you are coming back Dani, even if just for a little while, after a month we will be nearing the end of March and then it's only 2 more months and you will move back home" he says, I nod.

"Okay I will get going Benny, I'll be home by tomorrow" I say before I hang up.

I know that I have to do this, honestly I want to do this, of course I do, I'm going to see my girlfriend who I haven't seen in almost 6 months, also I can't imagine what she is going through now, because I know for a fact that if Valentina didn't tell me she is taking over after just one of her parents death then she didn't know either.

I packed everything and I head out from my dorm, I'm leaving a few things behind because I'll be back in a month but still most of my clothes and belongings come with me.

I head to Mia's room, when I enter I see Ivy laying on the other bed too, I met Mia through Ivy so it makes sense, they were friends before all three of us were.

"Hey Dani" Mia says standing up and coming over to me, she pulls me into a tight hug "I hope we didn't scare you off earlier" she says, I shake my head smiling as I go into the room.

"No you didn't" they didn't scare me off I just realized a few things, like I need to be with Valentina right now.

"What's with the suitcase?" Ivy asks "About that guys" I start "I'm going home for a month" I say.

Ivy sits up now too "How come?" she asks, Mia giver her a disapproving look, I'm guessing because of the tone she used.

"Well I don't know if you've seen but my girlfriend pretty much needs me right now" I explain, although I would think this is pretty easy to figure out.

"So what? Are you saying you are leaving for a month at your final year at Harvard law just because your girlfriend needs a shoulder to cry on?" Ivy says, remind me why I like her again.

"No I'm leaving my final year a month because I choose to and I know that if things would be reversed she would do the same for me" I say rolling my eyes, I don't understand what her problem is.

She scoffs "I wouldn't be too sure of that" she rolls her eyes, I step closer to her, Mia then comes in "Okay let's not fight over things like this, we'll be waiting for you Dani, also chat me" she says.

"Yeah I will" I say but I step to Ivy "Now do you want to tell me what your problem is?" I ask, I'm not leaving until I figure it out.

"I'm just saying that even the dumb knows Valentina Powers can't be trusted, now that she is even more powerful even more people will want her, I'm just looking out for you Dani" she says "You know that I would never hurt you" she says softening her eyes.

I step back "Well then it's a good thing neither would she" I say "If you really knew Valentina you'd know she is loyal to a fault and she is crazy about me, but you don't so this is the last time I will hear you say something bad about her or just about our relationship in general" I say before I go over and hug Mia.

"We'll talk" I say, she gives me a smile before I head out, I feel a wrist on my hand then, I look at Ivy "I'm sorry, that wasn't okay for me to say" she says, I give her a smile before I leave the dorm.

I go outside and go to my car, I start driving, in 6 hours I will be at Valentina's.
