Part 28

*Danielle's POV*

This last few months have been rough, really rough.

I've been learning and working all at once, it's been tough, but I can finally see the finish line, tomorrow I'm finally doing the bar exam, I'm really nervous.

I've been sitting in front of a book all day, revising everything, I'm using the flashcards Valentina made me and all the notes she made to help me, she's been really helpful, quizzing me for hours everyday no matter how tired she was.

It's already dark outside when my phone starts ringing, I pick it up and see that Maddie is Facetiming me, I answer my phone and hold it in my hands as Maddie's face comes on screen.

"Hey, how are you doing?" she asks me, I yawn "Great, I'm great" I answer before rubbing my eyes.

"Wait, are those books in front of you? Don't tell you're still learning for tomorrow" she says sitting up on her bed quickly.

"Don't tell me you are not" I say not believing her, Maddie and I'll do our bar exam the same time, it's been a help really, she came over a few times to study, with her working at Powers firm and me working at Lexington the times we could study together were limited but we made it work.

"Of course I'm not, I haven't opened a book since yesterday, you won't know more with one more day of studying, your brain needs rest too, you know" she says and I sigh, she is right.

"I know, I know, I'm just so nervous Maddie, what if I don't pass? Oh my god could you imagine? I'm engaged to the CEO of the biggest law firm company who by the way scored 395 on the bar exam and I can't even pass?" I start freaking out.

"Hey stop that now, you've been preparing for this for months, there isn't a way you won't pass, you know what I like to say always think about things in a logical way, you put in all this work, you basically now every law book from beginning to end, don't stress about it, just rest that beautiful brain of yours, we will ace tomorrow Dani, believe that" Maddie says and I smile.

"I love you Mads" I say smiling, she smiles back "Yeah, I love you too so get your shit together and believe you can do this" she says, I laugh slightly.

"If we are talking about Valentina, where is my sister anyway? Sleeping already?" she asks, I look down on the time and I realise it's already midnight soon.

"No, she is not home yet, you know how she is with work right now, all that applications to sort out on people who want to work there" I explain, she's been staying in late nowadays.

"Tell me about it, it's a chaos in there" Maddie says before yawning "Hey, I'll get going but we'll meet up tomorrow at yours and we'll go together" she says smiling I smile back.

"Goodnight Mads" I say goodbye, soon we hang up and I stretch out on my chair and sigh.

Then I get up and head upstairs, I quickly hop in the shower, I let the warm water soak my body as I think about everything.

My relationship with Valentina mostly, let's just say with these intense working and studying we barely had time for each other, well of course she helped me study but that's it, we haven't been intimate since France and it's killing me honestly.

There was just never time, I was studying all night because I was working during the days and Valentina was- well working day and night, when she and I weren't working she was helping me study, or we were sleeping, we never had sex, and it's a rather important thing in our relationship.

I hope after the bar exam we'll get back to how we were, at least I know for sure that I'll jump Valentina the next chance I get.

I keep showering when I hear the door open, Valentina is home, I smile to myself before I continue washing myself, suddenly she opens the steamed glass door, my eyes trail down her body, her eyes do the same, I smirk.
