Part 7

*Valentina's POV*

I get home late, like really late, it's past 1am, I didn't want my last meeting to last that long but it did, and I hate that it did, especially since my beautiful girlfriend was probably waiting for me.

I open the door and get inside, I walk to the kitchen where I see food prepared, I smile at this.

Then I hear stirring and look back, I see Danielle rubbing her eyes and getting up from the couch, great I didn't just make her wait and make her fall asleep on the couch but I also woke her up, I'm just the best girlfriend.

"I'm sorry for waking you up" I say before I wrap my arms around her, she leans on my shoulder "I'm just glad you are home" she whispers, still clearly tired.

"I'm sorry for that too" I apologize.

She hums clearly close to falling asleep again "I'm going to my father's funeral tomorrow, will you come with me?" I ask her.

She then looks at me "Of course you don't have to-" she cuts me off "Of course I will come with you" Danielle says.

I smile before I cup her face and give her a kiss "Now let's go upstairs and get some sleep" I say before pressing a kiss on her cheek, she smiles.

We head upstairs and get into bed, I wrap my arms around Danielle and she rests her face on my chest, my eyes start closing soon enough.

"I love you darling" I say.

"I love you" Danielle says back before falling asleep on me.

I fall asleep smiling.

We are already in the car heading towards where the funeral will take place, I focus on the road as my mind is so calm, I've never felt like this before, it's like there isn't any thought inside of me, is this what being dead inside feels like?

Then I feel Danielle's hand on my legs and I realise that definitely not, I could never possibly be dead inside while Danielle is alive.

"I'm here for you" she says, I suck in a deep breath , I know she is, she always is.

We arrive and get out of the car, I pull my sunglasses over my eyes and take Danielle's hand.

We walk towards the church the service will take place at, before we can enter we come face to face with Maddie and Hazel.

"Dani" Maddie says before hugging Danielle, let's just say they got pretty close "You didn't tell me you were back in town" she says before pulling back.

"Yeah, I just got back 2 days ago, I'm staying for a month" she says, I smile at that, I'm really glad she'll be here for a while.

"We should definitely meet up sometime then" Maddie says, of course she wants to meet up, probably she wants to take her to a club, don't get me wrong Danielle is not my property and she can go wherever she wants to go but I would rather be with her when they are going out.

"Hey Hazel" Danielle says before hugging her too, Hazel smiles, she really likes Danielle too, basically everyone already met Danielle in my family, I'm the same with hers, well I already knew her grandparents from when I was little but still.

"Everything okay? How is Harvard treating you?" Hazel asks her, Danielle shrugs "Well I'll get a pretty great law degree from there so I would say pretty great" she replies, I chuckle.

Hazel goes to say something back but our mother comes out from the church "We want to start today if it's alright with you" she says sarcastically.

I nod before taking Danielle's hand again and walking in, we sit down in the front.
