"Yeosang! Yeosang, slow down!"

Spoiler alert : Yeosang didn't slow down.

Wooyoung huffed as he sped up in an attempt to keep up with the blonde who was trying his best to melt into the crowd. He took in a deep breath through his nose, the way he'd seen San do when he was lifting weights, and sprinted forward.

"Yeosang!" he panted when he finally caught up, latching on to the elders arm "You ever thought about joining the track team?"

Yeosang sniffled and Wooyoung had the decency to look apologetic.

"Sorry"

"Wooyoung, please. I just want to be left alone" Yeosang sighed, turning away. There was glitter and mascara smudged around his eyes and Wooyoung could tell how hard he was trying not to cry again.

"It's okay, Yeo. You don't have to talk about anything right now if you don't want to, just let me be with you for a while" Wooyoung gently but firmly wrapped his arms around the elder "I can't let you be alone like this"

They were silent for a while, just sat on the curb of the pavement outside of Wooyoung's house and holding hands. Thankfully it wasn't too cold and they'd drunk enough not to feel it anyway. To the people spilling in and out, they probably just looked like two average high schoolers that had too much to drink.

"I can't do this" Yeosang eventually sniffed, rubbing his eyes and causing the mascara to smudge even further down his cheeks. He was still breathtakingly beautiful either way "I feel so fucking drained all the time. I can't take it anymore"

Wooyoung didn't really know how to reply but he squeezed Yeosang's hand empathetically, encouraging him to continue.

"I feel like I'm walking around blindfolded, waiting for someone to guide me that just never turns up. I know he cares and I know he struggles, Wooyoung. I really do but I can't just keep going on like this without getting any reassurance back. Sometimes I feel like Jongho doesn't actually like me, that he just pities me and for that reason allows me to follow him around. Like some sort of ego boost for him or something. I've been in that situation before. Guys just wanting me around like some sort of trophy wife and I'm not doing it again"

"Don't be silly, Yeosang. The boy adores the ground you walk on" Wooyoung grabbed Yeosang's wrists, forcing him to make eye contact "He's obsessed with you. I've know him forever and I've never once seen him like this. Not even when he was a pre teen and had that embarrassing infatuation with Seonghwa"

"Wait, what?!" Yeosang snorted, teary eyes sparkling with amusement.

"Yeah, I'll tell you about it one day" Wooyoung rolls his eyes before becoming sincere again "But listen to me, Kang Yeosang. Jongho truly adores you. So much that I don't think he even knows what to do with himself. He's not perfect, I know but the way he feels about you is genuine. He's not like those other guys, Yeosang he really likes you for you and I promise that if you asked him he'd probably be down to spend every day of the rest of his life proving it to you"

"Yeah, well how would I know?" Yeosang sniffs and laughs bitterly "He can't even tell me that"

"Yeosang" Wooyoung sighs softly, pulling the elder into a tight hug "He will. Speak to him tomorrow. This is all gonna be okay, you know that don't you? Everything is gonna be just fine"

They were silent again but it was a calm silence this time, like the dust settling and the sun setting.

"Thanks, Wooyoung" Yeosang shot the younger a watery smile when they pulled away from each other "I wish you'd been around to give me this advice earlier"

"Sorry" Wooyoung apologised guiltily. He was aware that he'd been neglecting his friendship with Yeosang but hadn't realised it was this bad "I really am. I'm gonna make it up to you, I promise"

Yeosang just smiles tiredly, allowing Wooyoung to interlace their fingers and guide him back into his house.
