"That fucking sucks" Mingi says sympathetically when Jongho tells him and Yunho about Yeosang "Like, truly. Like, really sucks. Like really, really sucks. I can't imagine-"

"Thanks, Mingi" Jongho pinches the bridge of his nose "I appreciate it"

He pretends not to notice as Yunho and Mingi trade a look and instead peeks over at the table where Yeosang is sat.

San and Soobin are wrestling, Beomgyu has his arm around Yeosang while talking to Yeonjun and Yeosang is talking to Wooyoung.

He looks beautiful. Blonde and bare faced and smiling slightly as he listens to whatever Wooyoung is saying. But undeniably, a little sad.

"Yeah, they broke up" Mingi is telling Yunho, making Jongho's ears prick up in interest.

"Who?" he asks.

"Wooyoung and Yeonjun" Mingi clicks his tongue.

"Good" Jongho answer's noncommittally.

Yunho hums in response and Jongho goes back to watching Yeosang. It's painful, but he doesn't know what else to do.

He's itching to go over there, to kiss Yeosang and hug him and listen to his silly little stories and his sparkly laugh and tuck his stupidly gorgeous blond hair behind his ears and trace the birthmark next to his eye with lips.

"You okay, Jjong?" Yunho asks, snapping the younger out of his thoughts. His eyes are concerned in a way that makes Jongho squirm in his seat. Yunho was always able to see right through him.

"I'm fine. He wasn't even my boyfriend. It doesn't matter" he shrugs. He feels like he's dying inside in every sense of the word, like his heart is in so much pain that it'll seize up and stop working at any moment.

"It's okay to miss him, Jongho" Yunho says softly and Jongho ignores him because if he doesn't he's scared he'll do something really fucking stupid like cry.

"Hey, Jongholicious"

Jongho looks up at Wooyoung who's smiling down at him. Not a smirk full of mischief but a genuine smile.

It almost sends him over the edge.

He nods at the elder and Wooyoung sits down, wrapping his tiny arms around Jongho's neck and leaning his head onto the youngers broad shoulder.

Jongho doesn't say anything but lets his head rest on top of Wooyoung's. He feels terrible. Wooyoung is being kind to him and he still hasn't apologised for the other day.

"Wooyoung- About the other day at the party, I'm really-"

"Shhh, baby bear" Wooyoung says softly, rubbing Jongho's back soothingly "It's already forgiven. How could I ever be mad at you, hmm?"

Jongho shuts his eyes. He hates this. He feels so fragile, like anything could knock him over right now and he'd break into a million pieces. It's almost too much to bear.

"Are you okay, Wooyoung?" Yunho asks.

"I'm fine. Yeonjun is taking it like a champ" Wooyoung sighs a little "If he's okay then I'm okay"

Wooyoung seems like he's hiding something but Yunho doesn't probe.

"Good" he smiles, Mingi resting on his shoulder "We're all gonna be okay guys. Time is the best healer"

That evening, Jongho is at home trying to desperately forget his feelings when he hears someone at the front door.

San isn't home, so he runs down to answer it and hopes it's Yunho or Mingi or even Wooyoung. He'll take anyone that can piss him off enough to distract him.

Instead it's none other than Yeosang when Jongho opens the door, hair so pale it's almost white and face almost equally pale which makes Jongho frown a little concernedly.

"Hi" Yeosang almost whispers. He's struggling to hold a huge box that Jongho immediately takes without thinking to which Yeosang flashes him a grateful smile "Thanks"

"It's fine, angel" the pet name slips out but if Jongho's honest he doesn't regret it.

"Can I come in?" Yeosang blinks, cheeks dusted pink.

"Sure" Jongho shrugs. He's trying to seem casual but on the inside his heart is hammering against his ribs with every breath.

They go into the kitchen and Jongho puts the box on the counter. He looks between it and Yeosang with a questioning gaze.

"Open it" Yeosang nods towards it, sitting on the counter beside it and swinging his legs slightly "It's your stuff"

Jongho's heart aches as he sifts through all the clothes Yeosang had borrowed from him. He hadn't even realised there had been this many.

"I was gonna send Wooyoung or Hongjoong round with them but I didn't want you to think I was avoiding you" Yeosang says softly.

"It's fine" Jongho shakes his head, shoving the clothes back in and closing the box.

He looks up and regrets it instantly because Yeosang is so fucking gorgeous. He wants to tell him he misses him so badly.

He doesn't but it's almost like he did because Yeosang smiles gently at him, as if he's saying it back.

"We're okay. Right?" he whispers.

"Of course we are" Jongho nods and resists the urge to pull the elder into his arms and kiss his face until he's giggling and pushing him away and he isn't making that sad expression anymore.

"Good" Yeosang smiles. It's so painfully fake.

"Good"
