Taylor hadn't exactly planned what she was going to say to Alessia that day, despite knowing that there was a chance that she would bump into her.

She hadn't stepped foot in the Cadieux building since her friendship with Alessia blew up, but she knew that Alessia also probably would have done everything she could to make sure she didn't see her again.

However, as she stood in front of the brunette, it brought her back to all those years ago.

She couldn't help the smile that tugged at her lips when she saw her, however, Alessia's expression was certainly the opposite of happy.

Taylor observed the interaction between Alessia and the boy, knowing him from her Instagram photos that she definitely hadn't seen before...

Okay, she was lying. Taylor spent most days following up on Alessia and trying to see what she was up to. Mainly just to see if she was happy.

"It sure is." Taylor smiled down at the boy, who noticed exactly who she was. "And what's your name?"

"Jackson." he smiled gleefully up at her. "You're very pretty."

Taylor couldn't help but laugh at that comment and glanced up at Alessia, who seemed distant in the conversation.

"How about you go see your mamma, she's not in any meetings just now." Alessia spoke up, trying to end this conversation quickly. Mainly because Alessia loved Taylor's interaction with kids.

The two stood there in silence once Jackson had left them and Taylor didn't know whether she should speak up or not.

"Hey, congratulations on the gala, it looked like it went really well. It's nice to see you out and about again." Taylor smiled, wanting to get off on the right foot again.

The pictures of Alessia from the other night were one of her favourites. It was just her in her natural habitat after spending far too long out of it.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Alessia finally spoke up and changed the subject, not being into all of that.

"I'm here to speak to Elizabeth. I just didn't think that you would be around."

"Well of course I'm around, I work here. Or did you forget that?"

Okay, so Alessia obviously wasn't all that happy to see Taylor.

Sighing low, Taylor shook her head. "Of course I didn't forget that. I'm not like that. Cadieux offered to design me a dress so, that's what I'm here to speak to her about."

Alessia let out a laugh and nodded her head. Taylor could tell it infuriated her because it would end up being Alessia that drew it up eventually.

At this point, however, Taylor felt deflated.

Sure, they had spent years of not talking but she didn't think that things between the two would still be as sour as what they are.

Taylor began to pick at the skin around her fingers, knowing that she would end up getting told off for it, but she couldn't help it when she was nervous about something.

"I need to go. I have work to do, and apparently another dress to design. So. Goodbye." Alessia spoke up, barely looking Taylor in the eyes as she did so. That hurt.

Taylor moved out of the way so that Alessia could step in to the elevator which was behind her and ran her fingers through her hair, trying to replay how she could have done things differently there.

She knew that there was a chance that she would meet Alessia, and she knew that she should have at least rehearsed what she was going to say. Perhaps that would have made things easier between the two.
