A/N: Hello my lovelies! Here's your night time update, earlier than 3am? Whaaaaat? I don't really like this chapter, but I got through it. It will get better again after this, hopefully. Also, I'm glad you were all annoyed with Mitch after the last chapter. I think his cluelessness is hilarious. Enjoy!

Chapter 11

I stood up and tried to fight back my tears before looking at Scott again. He was looking at me as if I were incompetent.

"Sit down," he instructed.

I gave him a confused look before sitting down, "I just broke up with you, why aren't you sad?" I inquired, slightly offended that he didn't seem to care.

"Because I've learned that you have a habit of jumping to conclusions and not considering any other possibilities," he replied.

"I don't do that," I protested.

"Right, what was I thinking?" He replied blatantly.

I crossed my arms, "Name one time that I've done that," I challenged.

He stared at me for a moment. "You assumed I was only being nice to you because you thought you owed me 2 dollars. You assumed that I was some drug-addict, alcoholic who got detention all of the time. You assumed—"

"I said one," I cut him off.

"And something tells me you're breaking up with me because of what I said earlier. Given, I should've explained it to you, I'm actually curious as to what you assumed I meant," he explained.

"Well, I assumed that what you would regret doing was kissing me. Which meant you didn't like me anymore. And the reason you asked to go eat was so you could break up with me. And you offered up food to soften the blow," I explained simply.

I was mildly offended when he chuckled softly. "I don't see how you losing attraction for me is funny. If anything it doesn't make any sense, I'm fantastic, but hey, it's your loss," I quipped with a shrug.

"I wasn't going to break up with you," he stated bluntly.

I furrowed my eyebrows. But my conclusion made so much sense.

"So you are still attracted to me?" I inquired.

"Absolutely," he replied before reaching across the counter and taking my hands in his, "That's why we had to stop," he informed me.

I would say that I was confused, but you probably assumed this.

"I don't understand," I assured him.

He nodded, "I know. My parents are out for the night. How about we get some food, then we can go back to my place and talk about it in a more private setting, ok?" He offered, and I nodded.

He wanted to talk in a private setting. Was it bad? I hadn't the slightest clue.

I drove, since his car was still under the weather and he'd gotten a ride from a friend to work. We stopped a Chinese place and got carry-out before heading back to his place.

I was feeling nervous, and we didn't talk much all the way back to his house.

Once we sat on his bed and emptied the bag of food, my impatience got the best of me.

"Can you explain now? It's killing me," I pleaded desperately.

He sighed, "It's kind of weird to explain but uh...I suggested that we stop because I was afraid I'd take things...too far and freak you out. Do you understand what I'm saying?" He explained.

Ohhh. See, that made more sense than my conclusion.

"Ohhh," I replied as I nodded slowly, "I understand," I assured him.
