A/N: The title is a double entendre and that makes me laugh. Another long, all-over-the-place chapter. And it's definitely not rated G near the end *wink wink*. It's nothing too explicit because I get uncomfortable writing that kind of stuff...well only if I'm putting it on the internet. And of course I had to add something in to make it even more awkward lol sorry.
Chapter 16
Scott carried me back to the house right as my parents got home. He told them he'd explain why I was crying later, before taking me upstairs.
I clung to him as if my life depended on it. He sat on the bed and held me close, "Please don't cry. Please, I hate it when you cry," he pleaded desperately as he wiped my tears away.
I sniffled before looking up at him, "I told Braden that if he had a problem than he should do something about it," I choked out.
"This isn't your fault. You're not responsible for his actions," he coaxed.
"I just wanted to help him. Kind of like how you helped me," I murmured.
He wiped away the fresh tears, "Shh shh shh, I know. Some people just can't be helped. It's a part of life," he explained.
I knew it was true. It was unfair, but true.
...
I was expecting people at school to be sad, but all I heard was insults, and claims that Braden was "weak". I wanted to say something, but Scott told me to leave it alone.
Standing up to Braden was one thing, but the entire student class was different, so I kept my mouth shut.
At least, I tried to.
At lunch when Braden's best friend, Eric, along with the rest of his group approached our table, I already knew things wouldn't end well.
"You know, Mitchy, we've been discussing it, and we've concluded that Braden only killed himself because he had to listen to your voice," Eric taunted.
As soon as Scott opened his mouth to speak, I held up my hand, silencing him.
"Is that a new one? I don't think I've ever heard that one before," I replied to Eric sarcastically.
"Oh, you've learned to finally talk for yourself instead of having your bodyguard do it?" He inquired.
I cleared my throat and turned towards him. "I have, actually. But I've also learned there's always a reason behind people who bully others for fun. So what is it? Daddy issues? Mommy issues? There has to be something. No one makes fun of others for no reason, unless they're a sociopath. So if it's not any of those, then your huge ego means you must compensating for something. Is it a small penis, perhaps?" I quipped cheekily.
I smirked as his face flushed a deep red.
"But that's nothing to be ashamed of. Apes have small penises too," I informed him.
Looks like my useless facts weren't so useless after all.
"Come on guys let's go," Eric grumbled before storming off with his friends.
I smiled to myself before picking up a carrot from tray and taking a bite. Kirstie and Scott were gaping at me in amusement.
"What?" I inquired.
"Dude! That was so great," Kirstie exclaimed in awe.
I blushed before taking another bite of the carrot.
"My mom was right, you are a keeper," Scott stated before putting his arm around me.
"As if there were any doubt," I retorted playfully.
