My Vampire

Chapter 3

My leg was bleeding and it was so painful. I was held in Leo's arms. I couldn't believe that I was flying on the air! Leo wasn't looking at me, neither was I. My sibling saved me? I wanted to cry but I had to be brave. When we stopped flying, Leo seemed angry.

Leo: Why did you leave?! Okay, I am a vampire, is there a problem? Our family never trusted strangers!

Jennie: I am sorry...

Leo: Ugh ! What am I gonna tell to the others? That you left because you saw me that I had longer front teeth?

Jennie: I was just shocked...

Leo: You ruined everythi-

Jennie: Okay Leo! I understood! But you and my family never understood me! You were hiding secrets from me!

Leo: What are you talking about Jennie?

Jennie: You know idiot! Or may I call you "brother"?

Leo: What?!

Jennie: You heard right, now I know everything!

I started crying loudly. I saw his expression. He was so skeptical. He came towards me. He put his hands on my shoulders.

Leo: I am sorry for shouting at you but I don't even know what are you talking about.

Jennie: What? But Mark said that mum and dad borned you first and after 4 years me.

Leo smirked. He made me stand up and he took my tears into a small container.

Leo: It may hurt but please don't scream and stay calm.

He put some drops of my tears on my bleeding leg. While he was doing that, he was looking away and not in my leg. However, this hurt so much. I noticed that he avoided answering me. So I asked him again.

Jennie: Are we siblings? Tell me the truth!

Leo: I said we are not.

Jennie: But why did he say that?

He looked at me with a serious look. We sat somewhere and he started saying:

Leo: First and foremost, you must know, that we are not siblings. Secondly, we are not even cousins. Try not to freak out. Mark lied to you. Four years after my birth, mum had a problem with her pregnancy. She wanted to have one more kid. So she adopted one.
And that's you Jennie. You-you are adopted. That's why you are not a vampire. Mum and dad were forced to separate us for you not to learn our secret.

Jennie: But why weren't you talking with me all these years?

Leo: I was afraid if I say something strange.

Jennie: Like what?

Leo: Vampire things.

Jennie: Was it you who saved me from this scary thing last night?

Leo: Yes. And guess who was trying to kill you. It was Mark. I know that you are not a vampire but your blood and tears are the cure to serious diseases of vampires. Although you are a human being, you have these strange powers. That's why he wants to kill you. He wants this power only for himself. Now let's go home.

Jennie: But your parents will get angry for not protecting me.

Leo: Don't worry about that.

He hugged me and we started flying. We finally arrived. Leo's parents hugged me with tears. I hugged them too. It was such a lovely time. After that, we ate a good quality of homemade food. Everyone drank from this disgusting wine which in fact, was blood. Leo explained them that I had learned their secret.

Mum: Jennie, can you do me a favor please?

Jennie: What is it?

Mum: Your grandma insists on sleeping at your bedroom. You don't mind sleeping with Leo, right?

I looked at Leo. He agreed and I agreed too. When it was time to sleep he sat next to me in the bed and he wished me goodnight. I blushed so I told him "night" and we both started laughing. I fell asleep and I saw a weird dream. I saw Mark calling "help" and behind him I saw Leo killing him. After that, Leo in my dream touched my face and his deep blue eyes became red. His face was covered in blood. He started laughing like a maniac and he tried to kill me too. I woke up and I was breathing hard. Leo woke up too. I glared at him.

Leo: What happened Jennie?

I didn't answer him. He seemed confused. He touched my head if I was okay.

Leo: Jennie? Hello ?

Jennie: I- I am fine. I am completely fine.

Leo: Jennie, tell me the truth please. I worry.

I looked at him and I started explaining. He thought about it for a few minutes and then he said:

Leo: Mark doesn't give up so easily. He may enter your head and make you crazy. So be strong. Tomorrow we are starting practicing against vampire dark powers. I will never let you alone. He told me and he kissed my head like he was my older brother. I smiled him and I slept in his warm hug.
