My Vampire

Chapter 5

Lucious had never let me leave from this tremendous castle. I made many attempts to get away, but in vain. One night I tried to do my best to leave from this castle. I had to be very careful because I was sleeping in the same bed with Lucious. While he was sleeping, I left from our room but his voice stopped me:

Lucious: Where do you think you are going?

Jennie: I just want to drink some water. I am thirsty.

Lucious: Before you go, I have to tell you something. Come here.

I sat next to him full of curiosity. As soon as I sat there, he jumped on me and his sharp teeth touched my neck. He started licking an area of my neck and then his teeth entered my throat. I was supposed to be dead but I felt myself more powerful than I ever had. My nails started getting sharper and more pointed like a wolf. I started scratching Lucious furiously like there was no tomorrow until he was dead. Screams began sounding so loudly from him. When I realised what I had done I started crying with panic. I heard footsteps coming towards me. Fortunately, I saw a window so I jumped but something was going wrong. I forgot that I couldn't fly. I started screaming when someone wrapped me in the air. I was flying! I looked up and it was the boy who Lucious wanted to kill. He looked prettier in real life. We finally stopped flying and we landed to soft ground.

???: Are you okay?

Jennie: Who are you? Are you here to kill me?

I looked at him with tears in my eyes. He seemed confused.

???: It's me, Leo!

Jennie: Of course you are! You try to enter the vampire's secret fortress, don't you? You are going to kill other vampires.

Leo: What?

I stood up and started running but I bumped into someone. It was Leo again!

Jennie: Stop following me! I don't wanna die.

Leo: I am not gonna kill you, idiot!

He brought out a small container and he put it under my teary eye.

Jennie: What are you doing?

Leo: Be patient! Now drink this liquid.

I drank it and then I lost my senses again. I woke up in a meadow full of flowers. It was already morning. I looked around if I could saw any passerby but no one was there. I heard a voice behind me and I recognized it immediately! It was Leo! I turned back and I hugged him so tough that he couldn't breath.

Jennie: Leo, oh my god you finally found me! Some other vampires kidnapped me and they gave me some food. I didn't want to eat them but I was starving so much so I ate some slices of golden bread that they had and then I wanted to ask something  Lucious but I realised that I couldn't breath for one second and then I found myself sleeping here.

Leo: I never taught you this. Well, you ate something which only vampires can eat. All the vampires tricked you and they gave you something to eat that had a poison for humans. This makes people forget everything and build up new memories that never existed before. So you must be careful when you eat something.

Jennie: Leo, where are we? Where is our house?

Leo: I brought you here to feel more relaxed.

Jennie: I really want to sleep, I am feeling tired.

Leo: Then sleep. The ground here is very soft.

I fall asleep in his warm hug under a tree. I was feeling safe if I was with him. How special am I for my blood and tears? Hours passed and it was time to go back to our house. We started flying. The view from up here is magical. When we arrived, I saw a massive Christmas tree standing in the big living room. I forgot that it was Christmas that day. Then Leo's family came in and we all sang Christmas songs together. I know that it is not my real family but I love them so much. At night, we all gathered near the fireplace and grandpa was narrating scary stories. It was 2 a.m. I was sleeping when someone woke me up.

Leo: Get up. I wanna show you something.

Jennie: Can't I sleep for 5 minutes?

Leo: No, get up. , and he started laughing.

We jumped out of an opened window and we started flying. We finally arrived in the same meadow we were before. He closed my eyes and he made me sit somewhere. When he finally opened my eyes I saw the most beautiful spectacle in my life. Fireflies were flying around the green meadow. Leo hugged me. It was so beautiful. After a while, Leo looked in my brown eyes and I looked into his deep blue eyes. I saw the Pacific lapping its waves calmly. The fireflies were making the atmosphere more peaceful and romantic. He suddenly pulled me closer to him and then his lips touched mine. That night would be printed on my memory forever.
