My Vampire

Chapter 8

I started worrying because we were lost in a big forest. I was very angry at Leo because he acted like a child but I had to admit that the whole situation was my fault. I didn't know what to do. We might have been far away from our family because Max couldn't smell something like them. I was about to cry, but I could smell mum's perfume strongly. I held Leo's hand and waved Max to follow me. I went where the scent led me. We were walking for about 1 hour when we suddenly heard voices. We finally found them. Or not? These voices didn't sound like mum's or dad's. I made some steps forward to hear better their conversation:

A: We must find them. They must be somewhere near. I really want to deliver this dumb girl to our King.

B: Wait a minute. I can feel hearts pounding near us.

They turned back but I had already found a good hiding place. The two guys were searching for us. Our heartbeat helped them come closer and closer to us but Leo, me and Max were ready to defend ourselves. We waited for a few minutes until they came near us. Suddenly, we  jumped from our hiding place and we started fighting with them. The man I was fighting with, had the similar perfume with my step mother. He was stronger than me and he threw me on the ground. Max saw it and rushed at him with all his might. This vampire had injured me on my right arm seriously. I was bleeding more than other time. My anger had made my nails again wolf claws and my teeth had taken the shape of wolf teeth. I didn't care what happened to my appearance that moment but I jumped on this freaking vampire furiously and I started biting and scratching him with my claws. After 1 minute I had finished him entirely. After that, I felt a tremendous headache in my head. I couldn't breathe. I started sweating and then, I fainted.

I don't know how many hours I had been sleeping. When I woke up, I saw Leo and Max sleeping. It would get dark in a few hours and we hadn't much time. I noticed that my hurt arm was covered with some fat leaves. After a while, I realized that I had kill one more vampire with my strange abilities. I was a terrible killer! I was so disappointed in myself. But I had to get over it. I approached Leo and I tried to wake him up.

Jennie: Leo? Get up, we have to leave., I told him sweetly.

Leo: Jennie, I am very sorry about what happened. I know you felt marginalized and that's all my fault.

I stroked his messy hair and smiled at him.

Jennie: No Leo, that's my fault. I shouldn't find this woman. I shouldn't bring you to her. Now let's leave from here before we get any trouble.

I woke Max up and we left. While we were walking my wolf was trying to smell the same perfume and I was talking with Leo.

Leo: But how could you have these claws and teeth like a wolf? I mean, you have killed 2 vampires so far.

Jennie: I don't know. I am so confused. I don't even know if I am a human being. How many beings have monsters?

Leo: They surely have vampires, zombies, witches, mermaids, demons, fairies and... Oh my god. I think you are a-

Jennie: What am I?, I asked him concerned.

Leo: A werewolf. Jennie, you might be a werewolf.

Jennie: Wha-what ?!

Leo: Just make sure the other members never learn what you really are. They hate werewolves.

I couldn't believe what my ears were hearing. I couldn't explain my strange wolf abilities. I killed 2 vampires so far and that was freaking horrible! I saw Leo walking but I hadn't realize so many days that he could resist the sun. That was suspicious so I asked him.

Jennie: How don't you get burned all these days under the hot sun?

Leo: You may haven't noticed my necklace.

And he brought out from his shirt a small necklace with a luxury red gem. I truly wanted to touch it.

Leo: This gem, protects me from the sun. Each vampire has its own gem.

While we were walking, I felt the leaves leaving from my arm. I didn't pay attention to it. But without realizing it, all the leaves had left. When I noticed it, I asked Leo for help. When he looked at my  bleeding arm his eyes became red. He came closer to me and said:

Leo: I smell blood. Get away from me now!, he tried not to look at my arm.

I ran away with Max following me. When we moved away from Leo, I noticed that Max was trying to explain to me something by doing moves. I didn't understand much but I think that Max was saying that when Leo saw my bleeding arm he tried to leave from me. So Max had stayed with me until Leo got over it. He is a vampire, this is his nature so I had to understand him. Max and I tried to find something to cover my arm and we found some leaves again but thinner than the others. When we came back to Leo, he had fortunately recovered so we started walking. Me and Max caught the smell of grandma's perfume. When we went closer we finally found them.

Mum: Where have you been? We started worrying!

Leo: We went for a walk.

Mum: Never again disappear, we are in great danger! Understood?

Leo+Jennie: Yes mum.

At night I couldn't sleep. The problem with my being had concerned me so much. I had killed 2 vampires already. I was gazing the fire when Leo sat next to me.

Leo: By the moment you are a werewolf, you can kill anyone who teases you. That's your nature. I have killed so many people in my life by drinking their blood. I am a vampire! And you are a werewolf. You can't do anything about that.

Jennie: But I am supposed to live my life normally, right?

Leo: You already live it. Today, I saw your bleeding arm and I really wanted to have a taste of your blood but I had to keep in my mind that we are a team. This is how I live normally my life.

Jennie: I am feeling so guilty!

He hugged me from my shoulder. I was feeling Leo like he was my fellow. I have so nice moments being with him. He is my everything. His eyes were still shiny in the dark and he couldn't hide his attraction from me so easily. I love him so much. I slept again in his warm hug until the next morning.
