General Theme:
I Wish I Could Take It Back
(In the kitchen the next morning. Alberto is relaxing in one of the kitchen table chairs when Luca bursts into the room, practically giving Alberto a heart attack.)
Luca: (Excited) I've got it!!
Alberto: (Still recovering, out of breath) Got... what...-?
Luca: I know who can help us figure this out!
Alberto: ...If you're going to say-
Luca: No, not Signore Marcovaldo. My grandma.
Alberto: Your... (Thinking it over) That's... not a bad idea.
(At this moment, Giulia comes into the kitchen.)
Giulia: (Yawning and stretching) Buongiorno, boys...
Luca: We had an idea!
Giulia: (Hesitating) The last time you had an idea, it meant I had to get wet... (Quickly covering up her worry by turning to start the espresso)
Luca: W-well... this one... does too... but it'll help us!
Alberto: We're gonna go see his grandma and ask her about if any sea monsters have ever left the town. If anyone knows anything about it, it's her.
Giulia: (Frozen while filling up the coffee pot with water, quickly turning off the tap) Y-you mean... underwater...?
Alberto: I don't know where else we'd go. You... said you were fine with being a sea monster until we get you back.
Giulia: I-... I am, b-but-... Don't you think we should... t-try something else first...? (Quickly putting the pot under the coffee maker and turning it on) Something... here in Portorosso-?
Luca: Like... where? (Genuinely wondering)
Giulia: L-like... uh...
(There's a call from another room.)
Mr. Marcovaldo: Ragazzini, I need some help down here!
Giulia: (Instantly heading for the door) I'll go help out. You guys can stay here and... have breakfast! (Pouring them espresso and putting it down by them)
Alberto: Don't you want us to come- (As she closes the door behind her) ...Okay.
(In the storage/shop of the pescheria, Giulia is helping her dad take some of the fish off the wagon, wearing gloves again.)
Mr. Marcovaldo: Are the boys coming?
Giulia: They're... having breakfast. (Putting some of the fish into an open crate)
(While reaching under some fish with one hand under them and one on top, her lower hand gets stuck and, while pulling it free, the glove comes off, leaving her hand to get wet from the fish and go sea monster form.)
Giulia: (Quietly panicking, whisper) Nonono...
Mr. Marcovaldo: (Has his back turned to her, but sensing that she's not working) Giulietta, everything alright back there?
Giulia: E-everything's fine, Papa...!
(Mr. Marcovaldo turns around and she instantly puts the hand behind her back.)
Giulia: I just... have to get something from outside. Be right back. (Shaking off the other glove and running to the door and outside)
(Mr. Marcovaldo is left completely confused and it cuts to him coming into the kitchen where the boys are somewhat eating breakfast, and more so concerned. They both look up at him when he enters.)
