***GRACES POV***I got out of bed at the sound of knocking on my door "My lady it is time for you to get up your parents has told me to make sure you get ready early for the dinner taking place this evening" said one of the maids I groaned "I'm up, tell them I'll be ready soon" I said "Yes my lady" said the maid before I heard her walking away.
I sighed and rolled over pulling the covers over me and closing my eyes again. If I'm going to be forced to attend this dinner then the least they could do is let me get some more sleep.
I slowly closed my eyes and drifted off back to sleep.
An hour later I woke up again but this time to the sound of unfamiliar voices downstairs.
Shit.
I quickly hopped out of bed and searched through my closet for something to wear, luckily I found a suit in the back of it that I've never worn before. After grabbing a pair of boxers, socks and a sports bra because my boobs are extremely small to the point where it doesn't even look like I have any.
I made my way to the bathroom to shower, and brush my teeth.
After that I blow dried my hair then quickly got dressed in front of the full body mirror inside my walk in closet. Once I was ready I put on a few pieces of jewelry so that I wouldn't look plain and made my way out of my closet just in time to hear another one of the maids knocking on my door and calling me down.
"My lady the guest has arrived and your grandfather is requesting your presence immediately" said the maid I sighed "I'll be right there" I said.
I looked up at the ceiling of my room and took a few deep breaths. Let's just hope this all goes smoothly so that It can be over soon.
I left my bedroom and made my way downstairs to the living room where I saw three people sitting on the couch one unfamiliar to me and the other two my mother and grandfather.
When my grandfather saw me he smiled most likely satisfied that I listened to him and dressed as he wanted. "Ah there goes my pride and joy" said my grandfather as he got up and walked over to me before putting a hand on my shoulder.
"Everyone this is my grandson" said my grandfather.
Hearing him say that hurt but I accepted it, once again this isn't the first time he's done something like this.
I sighed and put on a fake smile as the man he was sitting with approached me "Nice to meet you I'm Albert Anderson" he said holding out a hand for me to shake in which I took. He then turned his head to the corner nodding to someone who soon after walked over to us.
"And this is my daughter Andrea Anderson" he said I looked up from the woman's silky smooth legs that peaked from under her casual black dress then at her hands in which was holding a silver purse and her nails that were perfectly manicured until eventually I got to her face seeing familiar dark black hair and a familiar pair of honey brown eyes looking at me.
"Miss. Smith?!"
________________________________________We all sat down on the couch and the whole time my grandfather and mother was talking to Mr. Anderson I was still in shock but you couldn't tell if Miss smith- actually Miss Anderson was as well.
Why is my professor here?!, I haven't once's took my eyes off of her and but she hasn't even looked my way but we probably both were trying to figure out the exact same thing.
After a while one of the butlers came out and whispered something in my grandfathers ear. He then clapped his hands together before speaking "Alright everyone dinner is ready shall we head to the dinning room?" Asked my grandfather to Mr. Anderson who nodded in agreement.
They all started to make their way to the dining room but I hung back a bit hoping to get a chance to speak with the professor.
I'm still not sure what the hell is going on and now I'm even more confused seeing her here.
I stood up seeing Miss Anderson about to do the same, "Hey wait a min-" I tried saying but she blew right past me making her way to the dinning room with the others. Her last name may have changed but the fact that she's a rude bitch has not.
I huffed and rolled my eyes before following the rest of them.
Time went by and everyone at the table talked and ate.....everyone except for me and Miss Anderson she was silent and barely eating her food but I wasn't one to talk as I was also as quiet as a mouse as I poked at the food on my plate not really having much of an appetite because of that bad feeling in my stomach.
Just then I heard the sound of a fork hitting the plate and looked up to see my grandfather wiping his mouth before speaking.
"So enough chatting I think it's about time we get to the real reason we're gathered here" said my grandfather.
"I agree" said Mr. Anderson letting his fork hit his empty plate as well and wiping his mouth. It was like everyone's eyes was now on me and miss Anderson which made me uncomfortable because I got the feeling they all knew something we didn't.
"Grace" called out my grandfather gaining my attention "Yes grandfather?" I asked paying full attention now, I really wanted to know what this is all about. "As you know this dinner was to strengthen the bonds between our two families" said my grandfather. "Yes but I'm not quite sure why we would need to do that forgive me if this sounds disrespectful but our two families aren't exactly friends" I said.
"Your right which is why we aim to merge our families as a way to strengthen our business, your family holds the most influence rather it be over the middle class, High class or the poor while we have power the ability to keep people in line" said Mr. Anderson
"Exactly so we decided two traits like that would be better together then apart and with that being said we also decided that the best way to merge our two families and make an unbreakable bond is through marriage" said my grandfather.
My heart stopped in my chest.
No please don't tell me.
"Grace Saintclair and Andrea Anderson you both are now signed into a contract agreement in which says you both are to be married......" Said Mr. Anderson
"To each other" he finished.
