***ANDREA'S POV***The table went quiet after I told her what my lawyer told me and it was like her mood did a complete 180. "Miss Saintclair?" I said "You know what" she said as she dropped her fork and reached into her pocket before pulling out her wallet. "What's wrong?" I asked confused "I was so stupid" she mumbled to herself but I was still able to hear her, what is she talking about?.
I watched as she took out the money for the bill from her wallet and sat it under one of the empty glasses of wine before standing up. "Where are you going?" I asked "Do you even know why I asked you here tonight?" She asked.
"To talk about what happened at the manor?" I said unsure, "No I asked you on a Date because I wanted to get to know you" she said.
A date?!?
"Why?" I asked still confused, the last time I checked she didn't like me enough to get to know me in fact wasn't a divorce what we both wanted from the moment we even got married.
What changed?. Why does she seem so mad about it?.
She ran a hand down her face "I don't know honestly it was a stupid idea and you don't have to worry about it happening again" she said "Wait M-" I tried saying but she cut me off "Enjoy the rest of your night" she said before storming out of the restaurant.
I was shocked, what just happened?, I looked around and notice that everyone was watching us. I sighed and grabbed my things before leaving not really liking all the stares I was getting.
I got outside and looked around, maybe I can catch her before she leaves. I looked across the street where she parked but the car was gone.
I sighed, just when I thought things couldn't get any worst I heard the sound of thunder then immediately after it started pouring down raining.
Lovely.
I pulled out my phone and ordered myself a ride but it said it'll be a 30 minute wait which was less than ideal because that meant standing in the rain for 30 minutes.
Just as I was looking for another option I heard a voice. "Hey there" said a woman's voice, I looked to my said to see a woman a few inches taller then me dressed in a nice fancy but feminine pants suit with curly black hair and light blue eyes. She looked to be some sort of business woman that I could tell by the way she was dressed.
I huffed and rolled my eyes, I'm really not in the mood to talk to strangers right now.
"Just going to ignore me?" She asked "That's the plan" I said as I folded my arms across my chest "Ouch, that's no way to treat the woman sharing her umbrella with you" she said "What-" I said but looked up and sure enough she was holding an umbrella over both of our heads.
No wonder the rain suddenly stopped.
"I never asked you to do that" I said about to move but she grabbed me "Ok wait wait, I can I assure that I'm not some creeper" she said "Are you sure about that?" I asked looking down at her hand that was around my waist. She noticed and cleared her throat before immediately moving her hand "Sorry" she said "Right...if that's all I'll be on my way" I replied.
"Wait" she called out stopping me again I sighed and turned to look at her.
"At least let me give you a ride" she said "No thanks I called an Uber" I replied "It's supposed to rain all night and a Uber would take at least 35 to 40 minutes to get here because of the bad traffic down this way" she said.
Why was this woman so adamant on getting me in her car?, It's weird and I don't trust her. "Like I said No thanks" I said again. Just then she reach out her hand to me, I looked to see she was trying to hand me something "What is that?" I asked "It's my gun" she said with a smile, my eyes went wide as I looked at it.
It really was a real gun, why was she handing it to me??.
"If I try something funny I'm giving you permission to shoot me, but please make it a clean shot and do not aim for my head, heart, stomach, or back but arms, legs, feet and hands are fair game though" she said.
Is she crazy?!?!.
"I-" I said speechless as I looked up at her face, I could tell she was a genuine person that bared no ill will towards me but I was still worried. However she had a point and I didn't really want to get soaked standing in the rain all day.
I let out a sigh before speaking. "There's no need for that I'll accept your offer" I said, she smiled "Great my cars parked around back I'm Valerie by the way but you can just call me Val" she said holding out her free hand for me to shake, I looked at it for a moment before letting out another deep sigh.
"Andrea" I said shaking her hand.
"Nice to meet you drea" she said "Don't call me that" I said coldly as I dropped her hand, she raised an hand in defense "Woah okay, my bad " she said.
"Whatever let's just go" I said.
I'm tired, annoyed, confused and frustrated. I just want to go home and go to sleep after that scene in the restaurant.
I don't understand why she was so mad.
