***ANDREA'S POV***I sat in Valerie's office waiting for her to get here so that we can discuss our next steps. As I sat here on one of the couches in her office I couldn't help but think about grace and how she said she loved me night of the red carpet event.
I felt horrible for not answering her and have been avoiding her since, I know it's childish and that I'm just doing the very thing I got mad at her for but for some reason In that moment I couldn't bring myself to answer her. I thought I knew the answer but I don't. I sighed and stood up before walking over to the large glass that was displaying the rest of the city.
"Things look so small from up here" I said out loud to myself, "I agree" said a familiar voice startling me a bit but I calmed down when I saw that it was just Valerie.
"You're late" I said she smiled and walked over to the window before standing next to me.
"I brought food, am I forgiven?" She asked holding up a large brown bag as she turned to face me. Valerie was much taller then me so I had to look up at her whenever we spoke.
I looked at the bag then gave her a really look. "This is supposed to be a business meeting not a lunch date" I said. "Why can't it be both?" She said, I sighed and walked away from her going back over to the couch and grabbing my bag. "Wait where are you going?" She asked "To go find someone who actually wants to do business with me" I said annoyed as I reached for the door.
Valerie sighed "Wait, if you hate the idea of having lunch with me that much then we can just get straight to business" she said before sitting the food down on a table then walking over to her desk before taking a seat in her chair.
She looked up at me and motioned for me to take a seat in the chair across from her.
I sighed and walked over before taking a seat.
"So Miss Anderson, Where do you want to start?" She asked.
I pulled out some paperwork from my bag and slid them across the desks "Here" I replied.
A hour into me showing her the plan I put together I noticed she looked pale, "What's wrong?" She asked catching me staring at her. I shook my head "nothing" I said before clearing my throat, I'm sure she's fine.
"This is a solid plan" she said "So far it is but there's more in my bag" I said before bending down as I was reaching in my bag I heard a loud crash causing my head to shoot up only to see that Valerie had fallen out of her chair and was now on the floor.
"Oh my god Valerie?!" I said getting up and rushing over to her, I held her head and tapped her cheeks but she wasn't opening her eyes, "HELP! SOMEBODY!" I yelled seconds later the receptionist I talked to before coming in came rushing into the room.
She stopped in her tracks when she saw Valerie on the floor, "What happened?" She asked "I don't know she just passed out" I said panicked, the woman rushed over to her desk and pulled out a needle and a little glass bottle with something in it before drawing it up then coming over to us and getting down on the ground next to me.
"I've got her move you hand" she said, I did as she said and moved back so that she could help her. The woman stuck the needle in her arm then injected her with it.
"What is that?" I asked "It's medicine for her low blood sugar, she faints when she doesn't eat her meals on time" she explained, I looked over at the brown bag of food on the table from earlier and sighed. So that's why she wanted to have lunch not because she wasn't taking me serious.
I ran a hand down my face, I feel horrible now.
"She'll wake up in a few minutes for now could you watch her? I still have to man the front desk if something goes wrong just press the button on her desk and I'll call an ambulance" she said I nodded and she smiled "Thanks" she said before walking out of the office.
I sat on the floor next to Valerie before putting her head on my lap, she looked uncomfortable and plus it's the least I could do considering this was my fault.
I found myself examining her unconscious face, her hair draped over my legs and I subconsciously ran my hand through it.
After a few minutes I felt her shift and move, "Mmm you keep doing that and I might just have to marry you" she said startling me for a moment, I looked down at her face and saw her smirking. My face went red and I immediately pushed her off of me causing her to chuckle.
I sighed "I'm sorry I didn't know you had low blood sugar" I said she shrugged before getting up from the ground. "I don't like telling people my business" she said I raised an eyebrow at her "But your receptionist knows?" I pointed out "Anna's worked for me since before I became a billionaire, she's family" she said before walking over to me "Still I'm sorry, I feel horrible about this" I said "If you really feel bad then how about you make it up to me?" She asked I sighed "How?" I asked "By going on a date with me" she said with a grin.
"You do know if I say yes it would be a pity date" I said kind of surprised by her response.
"I'll take what I can get" she said with a smile.
