...'s POV (3rd person):
A boy woke up in a dark enclosed space, confusing him as he tried looking around to know where he was.
Where was he? Who was he?
Oh, right, he was Shuichi Saihara, the Ultimate Detective, atleast that's what people call him, he's just a trainee after all.
Suddently, the noise of a locker opening and someone falling was heard and interrupted his train of thoughts.
A locker? Someone else was here? Shuichi tried to get out of this supposed locker, soon being caught by surprise as the locker's door opened, making him fall down.
"Hnnng..."
He groaned as he hit the ground, slowly lifting his head to see another person in front of him, making him flinch and quickly get up.
"Aaah!!" He backed away from the blonde girl in front of him, his hands moving in front of him into a protective position.
"How rude! Don't freak out at me like I'm some sort of monster!" The girl yelled, seeming offended that a complete stranger was scared of her...
"A-ah, sorry!" Shuichi quickly responds, not wanting to make a bad first impression in front of someone.
"I'm sorry too, okay? I just have no idea what's going on..." The girl calmed down, speaking up once again after a small break. "But... all the more reason why we need to stay calm. Oh! 'Gymnopédie No.1' by Erik Satie."
Shuichi looked at the other person with confusion. Gymno... What? What was going on with this girl?
"Try to imagine that sorrowful melody filling your head and soothing your heart-"
Shuichi didn't know what was up with her, but she really needed to go get some help, he knew that she was trying to be nice but her words just didn't make any senses, she just sounded crazy.
And like that couldn't get any weirder, five colorful teddy bears appeared out of nowhere. Was he onto some sorts of drugs? Was he dreaming? Because all of that was just too weird to be reality.
"Rise and shine ursine!"
"Aaaaah!" The blonde girl screamed in surprise at the appearances of the five bears.
"Teddy bears...?" Shuichi finally spoke up, looking at the talking teddy bears.
"N-no it's a monster! You can freak out about this!" The music obsessed looking girl exclaimed, making Shuichi raise an eyebrow skeptically.
"Gaaaaahhhh!" A blue teddy bear freaked out, putting its paws to the sides of its face.
"I don't think she was talking to you." A pink one said to the blue one.
Shuichi just stared at the scene in disbelief, what the heck was even going on?
"That's so mean... You humans are the real monsters for calling us monsters!" A red one spoke up, seeming bummed about being called a monster... Well, what was it expecting? It's a freaking live teddy bear!
"Although, if we are monsters, at least we're pretty monsters." The pink one spoke up again.
And then those teddy bears kept speaking nonsense together, the only things Shuichi remembered was those things calling themselves 'Monokubs', that they were in the 'Ultimate academy for gifted juveniles' and that there was 16 ultimate students here, basically 14 other people. And then the Monokubs left.
There was too much things going on, Shuichi just had to know if it was a dream or not. "...This...isn't a dream, right?"
"No, but I wish it was."
After an awkward silence of just standing there, the blonde girl spoke up once again.
"Um... Are you an Ultimate student, too?"
"Y-yeah... Well, then... I'm Shuichi Saihara. They call me the Ultimate Detective, but..."
"What? You're a detective? That's amazing!"
Shuichi wasn't really a real detective from his point of view, but he decided to keep quiet, it wasn't her buisness anyways, and it's not like he was gonna need to use his talent... Right?
"So... what's your name?" Shuichi asked, looking at the other one.
"Oh, right! My name is Kaede Akamatsu. I'm the Ultimate Pianist. Nice to meet you!"
Suddently, the door of their classroom burst open, a short boy with purple hair and a white outfit barges in, dragging a robot looking boy along with him.
"Look, Kee-boy! New people!" The boy beamed happily.
"K-Kokichi let go!" The robot looking boy complained.
Shuichi looked at the boy apparently named Kokichi, the other boy looked back, something about this Kokichi guy felt... Familiar.
Shuichi could have sworn that Kokichi's eyes widened for a second as he lets go off the robot boy and rushes towards Shuichi while Kaede introduces herself to the robot.
"Ah, hello, I'm Shuichi Saihara, the Ultimate Detective." Shuichi instinctively introduced himself. There was some hint of... disapointement? In the shorter boy's look but he just simply smiled wildly.
"Nice to meet you, mister emo detective! I'm Kokichi Ouma, the Ultimate Supreme Leader!" Kokichi introduced himself with a wide grin, something about Kokichi's confident behavior gave some warmth to Shuichi's heart, but he ignored it.
"And my name is K1-B0, you can call me Keebo, I'm the Ultimate Robot!" Keebo spoke up, earning an annoyed glare from Kokichi.
"Keebo I was talking already! Jeez, go talk to the music freak and let me talk to this hot stuff." Keebo rubbed the back of his neck in embarassement and kept talking with Kaede as Shuichi's cheeks turned red because of Kokichi's words.
"H-hot stuff?!" The detective repeated while Kokichi giggled at his reaction. "Nee-heehee! just kidding, I mean you are but I was just teasing you!"
Shuichi tried his best to calm down his blushing, but he was interrupted by Kokichi holding his hand and dragging him out of the room. "Come on! Let's go meet other people, Shuichi! Those two are boring." Shuichi didn't really complain and followed Kokichi, the shorter boy did seem more interesting than the two others, so why not?
And that's how the two boys started a long trip all around the school to meet new people, not knowing that they were stuck in a very, very deadly situation with the 14 other students.
